Why would he do that? Andrew Cuomo's future goal?

Posted on 01/23/2013 10:11:32 AM PST by 70times7

I have read what is happening in New York with frustration. Already a progressive haven from way DL, Gov. Cuomo seems to be on a liberal legislative frenzy. New York's restrictive gun law was put into place so quickly that it will have to be amended for police. Abortion law changes that will fly in the face of a significant Catholic population, some of which actually pay attention. What else is next? (as if that is not enough!) These are big issues and significant changes in a very short time. Rahm Emmanuel would be very proud of Andrew.

For quite a while Cuomo seemed moderate. Many of his administration's actions drew appreciation from Republicans. So, why the change?

I would like to be the first on FR to say this is all about his desire for the White House (I'm sure if I'm not the first someone will correct me). Biden may be licking his chops but he is a non-starter. Even the left knows he is a dufus. Hillary may be done too, unless the media can do enough damage control on Benghazi. Also, what will she be doing for the next four years? If she does not stay in the public eye she will fade and she knows this.

Although I am sure there are others from the left just brimming with Bolshevik that want to be POTUS, I suspect these actions in NY are all about telling the powers behind Obama that Andrew is ready, willing and able to keep America charging straight ahead on the wrong path in 2016.

You read it here first (maybe).

Mmmmmmm....Andy's dancing to the tune 24/7. He jest can't get enough of "Hail To The Chief." Sandra's been instructed to hum and stand at military attention as Andy approaches the breakfast table.

Andy's abortion siloloquy? That sounds an awful lot like Andy's using Daddy Mario's Political Playbook.

Andy's daddy lit a firecracker under Andy's a**----so Andy's gotta go for it b/c Daddy screwed up his own prez bid.

Mario had it nearly sewed up but then-Gov Mario announced that he could not enter the 1998 New Hampshire primary because of his "obligation" to manage his state's budget crisis---alas, that was the swan song of Mario's long-running flirtation with the presidency going back to 1988.

He would have been the front-runner; expectations were high that he would run. Mario had even gone so far as to rush out of the Dem convention as a ploy to enhance his candidacy. But his timing was off; Mario deflated like a used condom.

Then Catholic Mario made that radically pro-abort speech at Catholic Notre Dame.

Ut, oh.

Is Andy's PR person booking him for a speech at Fordham?

=====================================

JUST PILLOW TALK I hear Sandra's nickname for Andy is "Squirt."

And no......that does not refer to Andy's being an offspring of Mario.

But it was, in fact, the reason for Andy's divorce from his first wife....the Kennedy girl.

ROTFL.

New York citizen’s Constitutional ‘Gun Rights’ are just a ‘speed bump’ to his political future .

Papa Mario still has a political machine ready , and on ‘stand-by’ for just such an opportunity .
Interestingly enough , much of this same political machine is already committed to ‘Benghazi Hillary ‘
This should bring some disharmony in the libturd Demorat machine !!

His two biggest problems are:

1) he’s not black and
2) he’s actually an American, at least by birth.

That means he’s a lot more fair game for criticism than the Illegal, who very effectively demagogues the race issue and is very much of a “cool” ethnic exotic.

9/31/12--Medicaid eyed for all ex-cons / By CARL CAMPANILE, NY POST

Gov. Cuomo’s administration is launching an aggressive plan to sign up thousands of ex-cons for taxpayer-financed Medicaid, which they’ll receive once they leave prison, The Post has learned.

Under the initiative, all inmates would automatically apply for the public health insurance for the needy while incarcerated, state Department of Health officials said. Those who meet the income requirements will be placed on the Medicaid rolls upon dischargeCritics say the plan offers no incentive for convicted felons to find work after lockup.

“It’s an extremely liberal approach to benefit prisoners. It shouldn’t be ‘Medicaid on demand.’ It gives the prisoners no incentive to get a job so they can get their own health insurance. This is unfair to the hardworking taxpayers of New York,” fumed state Conservative Party chairman Mike Long.“Evidently, crime does pay.”

Health officials defended the program as bolstering public health. “The incidences of communicable and noncommunicable diseases tend to be higher in the prison population. It also prevents unnecessary spread of illness in the community,” said Dr. Jo Ivey Boufford, chairwoman of DOH’s Public Health and Planning Council panel, which is reviewing the issue.

Authorities declined to say how many prisoners would be eligible, but even a conservative estimate would be in the thousands. There are 56,000 convicts in prisons or other facilities. In 2010, 25,308 inmates were discharged. Meanwhile, 2.2 million New Yorkers statewide are uninsured, or about 15 percent of all adults between the ages of 18 and 64.

The Witch is also not aging well and may have serious health problems. That makes Cuomo the front runner for now.

Andrew Cuomo and Fannie and Freddie
Village Voice ^ | August 05, 2008 | By Wayne Barrett
FR Posted January 09, 2013 by Brad from Tennessee

There are as many starting points for the mortgage meltdown as there are fears about how far it has yet to go, but one decisive point of departure is the final years of the Clinton administration, when a kid from Queens without any real banking or real-estate experience was the only man in Washington with the power to regulate the giants of home finance, the Federal National Mortgage Association (FNMA) and the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation (FHLMC), better known as Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Andrew Cuomo, the youngest Housing and Urban Development secretary in history, made a series of decisions between 1997 and 2001 that gave birth to the country's current crisis. He took actions that—in combination with many other factors—helped plunge Fannie and Freddie into the subprime markets without putting in place the means to monitor their increasingly risky investments. He turned the Federal Housing Administration mortgage program into a sweetheart lender with sky-high loan ceilings and no money down, and he legalized what a federal judge has branded "kickbacks" to brokers that have fueled the sale of overpriced and unsupportable loans. Three to four million families are now facing foreclosure, and Cuomo is one of the reasons why.

What he did is important—not just because of what it tells us about how we got in this hole, but because of what it says about New York's attorney general, who has been trying for months to don a white hat in the subprime scandal, pursuing cases against banks, appraisers, brokers, rating agencies, and multitrillion-dollar, quasi-public Fannie and Freddie. . . REFERENCE Cuomo's Social Engineering as HUD Chief Contributed to Subprime Crisis / originally published on Examiner.com

Have those New Yorkers, residents of one of the highest taxed states in the union, voting for Andrew Cuomo to be their next governor allowed their ideology to trump sound reasoning? As many Americans across this great land continue to struggle with the loss of their homes, savings and retirement resources, those that were complicit in not regulating the government sponsored enterprises (GSEs) in the second market namely Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac causing the subprime loans to detonate are jockeying for power.

Sadly, we are giving those same culprits the honor of office through our votes. Note: the use of the term 'we' and 'our' is a reference to the electorate and not suggestive of the voting record of the author.

In 1993 President Bill Clinton appointed Andrew Cuomo to the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as Assistant Secretary. In 1997 Cuomo took over as HUD chief replacing Clinton appointee Henry Cisneros. During Cisneros tenure he championed Clinton's goal of social engineering within the housing market forcing lenders to issue loans to those that would not financially qualify for the lending.

Cisneros left office in a scandal involving lying to the FBI over payouts to a mistress, Cisneros subsequently pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor and though never sent to prison received a pardon from Bill Clinton in 2001.

Andrew Cuomo took the HUD reins and not only furthered Cisneros and Clinton's policies but greatly expanded them.

Henry Cisneros moved the GSEs toward a requirement that 42 percent of their mortgages serve low and moderate income families. Andrew Cuomo raised that number to 50 percent and dramatically hiked GSE mandates to buy mortgages for the "very-low-income."

These bad loans were purchased and sold throughout the secondary market and the pyramid grew and the bottom collapsed resulting in the subprime crisis we are still reeling from today.

In 2008, the Village Voice published a compelling report detailing Andrew Cuomo's policy decisions "that gave birth to the country's current crisis."

The report touched on how Cuomo's 187-page rules "opened the door to abuse." The rules explicitly rejected the idea of imposing any new reporting requirements on the GSEs. In other words, HUD wanted Fannie and Freddie to buy risky loans, but the department didn't want to hear just how risky they were.

Many New York voters have been distracted by the gubernatorial candidate Carl Paladino's racist joke email forwards, what some are failing to see is the actual harm to the minority community directly caused by Cuomo's policies...and that is no laughing matter.

Cuomo's top aide said, "We believe that there are a lot of loans to black Americans that could be safely purchased by Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac if these companies were more flexible." Andrew Cuomo doubled down and had this to say about his HUD standards, "GSE presence in the subprime market could be of significant benefit to lower-income families, minorities, and families living in underserved areas."

How's that working out for the minority community, where foreclosures and unemployment rates have hit the hardest as a result of such failed policies and blatant social engineering?

HERE'S HOW THE SAP-HAPPY CRIMINAL LIBERAL MIND WORKS HObama sued lenders to force them to give out toxic loans, and now---as President---he is suing them for complying, and actually lending the money.

Nope. The "media" will cover for her, no matter how many punches are thrown. Cuomo may run as her VP, but if Hillary wants the Presidency in 2016, she will win. The only drama to that race will occur in the democrat primary. The repubs won't offer anything beyond token opposition.

Stick a fork in HRC. She's too old, she looks like hell, and her weeping and shrieking about Benghazi during today's hearings will turn off even Dems.

I'd love Biden to be the Democratic nominee next time around, but even Dems aren't that stupid.

The word here in NYC is that it is a 100% certainty that Andrew Cuomo will run for President. When he marries his concubine, you'll know for sure he's running.
