We have the Whorehouse Quartet

Bone-head
Obama
The Senate
The ‘Supreme Sandwich’ Court

We are going to take hits.

“Checkmate” is immigration.

The House needs to dump Bone-head before we can even begin to have serious leadership. Otherwise, he’s going to mess everything up, make the GOP look like blundering ogres who ‘only love the rich’, lose key votes anyway, and then he would happiliy cave on immigration like Briar Rabbbit in the thorn patch. That, I believe, is Bone-head’s objective. But he has to demoralize us first. We’s a worm growing in our belly.

What about college research grants? Wind mill scams. Solar scams. Federal employee paychecks. Federal pensions. No you go straight to the military rather than the bloated bureaccracy and pork.

Folks, this bill is a good start. Many more bills will be coming, this is just the first. The house needs to amend it with winning proposals to divide the Rats and stop the spending, but they have to be proposals with broad public support. End child tax deductions for illegals, and no pay raises for Govt employees - those things will divide the RATs but bring the public to our side - I hope the Pubbies on the House are smart enough to play the game.

Amen. Spot on. Liberals, liberalism, and Obama are vulnerable, more vulnerable than it appears.

The U.S.A is a dictatorship. And the media are the dictators. The news media has controls the U.S.A totally,.Can anyone deny that?

I mean what the news media decrees then that is what is done. the media came up with this “fiscal cliff” bs and all the stupid public and all the stupid Senators vote to avoid this great cliff. does anyone know how we are going over some cliff? do any of them ? NO. Well a handful of Senators didn't , Rubio among them has sense but that is abysmal. there is no damn cliff. just don't vote for that stupid deal so what would we fall of some cliff? NO.

“SSN is a losing argument because it is the ONE entitlement not adding to the deficit now.”

Not to the people who are paying into it. Young people. Again, you’re assuming that a policy is a loser policy because the takers > makers.

I hope you’re not one of those ‘lockbox’ people. There is no ‘lockbox’ it’s been spent. Everything that boomers have contributed has already been spent on stuff for boomers.

What is happening now, is that as boomers retire - their children and grandchildren are footing the bill. Only your children and grandchildren make about as much as your grandparents did. We get a considerable percentage of our income taken off, no matter how much we make, to pay for Social security. For me last year, it worked out to be close to 20 percent of my earnings. And I make about 10k a year.

Meaning - we don’t have the money - because boomers won’t hire us for the positions that make a significant amount of money - and because Boomers insist on credentialism for entry level positions. If you don’t spend x number of years in school - you won’t even be considered.

There’s simply not enough of us out there to pay for all the boomer retirement benefits, not when it takes 5 of us to pay for one of your jobs, and the retirement ratio is approaching 2:1.

SS reform is inevitable. The choice we have at present is how that reform is to take place. What are folks like me supposed to think, when we are having 20 percent of our paychecks taken to pay for people who make more money than we ever had in our life? Social Security takes from the people who have little money (younger folks), and pays it to the section that is the most well off.

Yes there is pork throughout the government that can’t be denied. The problem is even if you were able to cut everything we are still left with a bloated military. Look I served and my son is currently serving, I am pro defense and military, I also believe to get our fiscal house in order everything is on the table. Nothing is exempt. I always laugh at the earmarks. Earmarks are bad but they allowing for about 1/10 of a percent in spending. Real reform needs real solutions. This kicking of the can crap is tiresome and not sustainable.

Of course there is no lockbox. My point is what needs to be cut to get spending under control resides in many places. Republicans go after entitlements. Dems go after Military and taxes. I am not a tax guy but cuts need to happen every where no matter what party you are in. There are no sacred cows.

Well, it’s going to get cut. Either now or later. Perhaps you’ve not noticed the trend of giving everyone but the ‘new hires’, pensions.

We still have to pay into the pension fund though. Slick setup.

I take it you are self-employed? Anyone who is on payroll making 10k a year gets earned income tax credit, so they would only be contributing the 6% employee share to SS, and indirectly the 6% employer share (through getting lower pay than the employer is willing to pay). Those are then completely offset by the earned income tax credit.

Yeah, I’m self-employed. I work for myself and I teach. Single, no deductions, etc. So I don’t qualify for any of the Obama benefits, but I sure as heck pay for them.
