Actor Depardieu bids ‘adieu’ to France to avoid taxes

French cinema's leading man Gérard Depardieu has set up his home in a Belgian town straddling the French border to avoid paying taxes in his home country, a local mayor has confirmed.

That makes no sense. Obama and Buffet have assured us that tax rates do not affect behavior and that the rich want to pay higher taxes. They couldn’t be wrong, could they?

Yeah, but when he the French elections come around again, he’ll likely vote for the lefties, just like our lefties who leave NY and California seeking to leave the high-taxation, but continue their liberal voting tradition.

Depardieu is a great screen and stage actor. He has made wonderful films in France and the US. His performance in “Cyrano” in the lead role, is memorable.
He was also an important major supporter of Sarkozy, and is a huge earner.
Who can blame him or other who have worked hard their whole lives and are refusing to turn over 75% of the fruits of their labor to a confiscatory, out if control Socialist state?
