PORTSMOUTH, N.H. (CBS Connecticut) – For some, the idea of Christmas coming early is anything but welcome.

Local shop owner Sarah Hamilton-Parker, tired after years tolling bells sounded by Salvation Army workers for hours on end during the holiday season, took matters into her own hands by reaching out to local authorities to complain about the noise.

“I listen to this for 200 hours a year,” Hamilton-Parker told the Portsmouth Herald. “This is my fourth year and I can’t take it anymore. I’m so sick of it.”

Maybe the Salvation Army should get their band out and play?

Nope, the Salvation Army is going to try and find a bell that won’t ring.

Yes, that’s right...a bell that won’t ring.

And so it goes....we keep caving to these bitter, ugly complainers. Why?

I have to agree with her. She could ask them to use a different system to attract attention, but they already stand out. If I heard that bell ringing for more than 1 hour and they refused to stop I would have taken their little bell and stomped it. Then I get arrested.

I notice they don’t name her business but I am sure it will be sussed out soon enough. She may end up longing for the days that the bells were ringing.

Usually “shops” are located in commercial (zoned) areas where noise like this is normal, expected and tolerated.

Oh, the bells, bells, bells!
What a tale their terror tells
Of despair!
How they clang, and clash, and roar!
What a horror they outpour
On the bosom of the palpitating air!
Yet the ear it fully knows,
By the twanging
And the clanging,
How the danger ebbs and flows;
Yet the ear distinctly tells,
In the jangling
And the wrangling,
How the danger sinks and swells,
By the sinking or the swelling in the anger of the bells -
Of the bells,
Of the bells, bells, bells, bells,
Bells, bells, bells -
~Edgar Allan Poe

Perhaps she will have to spend eternity listening to that bell.

“Reaching out” to the cops. ROTFLMAO!!! Commie liberals and their bull**** political correctness cracks me up everytime I “reach out” to them while they’re “reaching out to freeloader voters who are “reaching out” for freebies and government handouts. This country has really gone to hell. Nothing but a bunch of crybaby reachers.

How about let’s make a deal. You be hungry and cold (like the people that the SA tries to help) for 200 hours, instead.
