I was surfing channels one night and hit one of the shopping networks. The Kardashians were on, selling something, and Kim (I guess that’s the one with the big behind) looked absolutely freakish. Apparently she had fat injected into her hips. She’s so wide, she MUST have to wear custom-made clothing.

Hope she didn’t touch those clothes,, there might still be some of Ray J’s urine on them. Kim K, the human toilet let him pee on her for fun.

"I love the dress with the black lace overlay that Kate wore recently. Absolutely stuning."

I agree; that one is gorgeous.

I could wear that. One doesn’t have to be terribly thin for it to hang right.

True. Who wants to be terribly thin, anyway? ;)

It’s a judgment call these days - style, weather, age - but oozing infected mosquito bites definitely call for stockings.

I’ve been through phases of terribly thin, but not lately. I was telling my 14-year-old daughter about “one apple and two tortillas per day,” and she was aghast. (She’s not overweight for 5’7”, but could use more exercise if she wants to dominate in next summer’s swim team.)

However, I think Kate needs a few cheezburgers if she’s going to do her dynastic duty before she gets too old.

No, it’s not a good visual, but it’s common among young women here in the buggy Southeast - short dress, high heels, bare legs with oozing bites and/or bruises.

Preach it! I’m afraid Kate is way too thin to conceive.

In my 20s, I was very skinny, but I found out that women actually look better with a feminine shape. Imagine that...

It’s a tough call for the royal brides in any country (except an African or Arabian one, I guess). On the one hand, they’re supposed to look glamorous, which means thin. And then they (and the husband) often want to enjoy married life, travel, recreation, without having children immediately.

But on the other hand, suddenly they find they’re 35 and haven’t had a child, and that’s a problem in their positions. Poor Princess Masako in Japan hasn’t been able to have a son, only one daughter, iirc, and it’s been awful for her.

What’s awful for Princess Masako is that she married Crown Prince Naruhito when she was 30, with a career in the Japanese version of the State Department, but it was expected she would have a son. After 8 years, a daughter was born, but there has been no other child. She’s in her late 40s now, older than me, and experiences “nervous exhaustion” from the stress of her position, according to general news reports.

The heir, other things being equal, will be Hisahito, the son of Naruhito’s younger brother.

Japan is more tradition-bound than most European countries, but even in England, it’s expected that wives will continue the direct Mountbatten-Windsor line by having children.

How old is Kate, do you know? I’m thinking 29, but I could be wrong.

You know, this is a slight topic change, but I was looking forward to a President and Mrs. Romney making a state visit to England. It would have been nice for the Brits to see that we still have normal-looking people in this country, and not just the Freakazoids from Planet X.

Oh, well.

Kate was 30 in January of 2012 (the 9th, unlike my James and Kathleen, whose concurrent birthday is January 19).

All questions of political ideology aside, I too was looking forward to the dignified Romneys representing us on the world stage. Sigh. Another four years of Michelle and “What I picked off the racks during the Blindfold Shopping Spree at the Goodwill Store.”
