A dog shot and killed by a cop could have been a threat to bite officers. That's the opinion of the Omaha police union president. Our Sister Station WOWT, Channel Six News, first showed the exclusive video of the incident last month.
A man walking the family pet in a search area ignored orders to stop so police arrested him and an officer shot and killed the dog. Omaha Police Union President Sgt. John Wells told Fact Finders, Based on the video I dont see that the officers acted inappropriately.
But the dog owners sister takes a different view, I think the officer was wrong shooting Teela. She wouldnt hurt anybody.
Union President Wells said in his opinion the night vision video from a neighbors security camera doesnt tell the whole story. Wells said, Just seeing the officers immediate reaction its seems to me he back peddled for a second thinking the dog is coming at him and made a split second decision by deciding I have no choice but to put this aggressive dog down.
The lab retriever mix named Teela had a clean record with the humane society. Chris Schulte, the man walking to family pet claims the officer didnt have to shoot the dog. Schulte said, Not threatening, the dog wasnt being aggressive.
But the report filed by officers Schuster and Clements stated the dog was aggressive, growled and showed its teeth. The union president points out that officers reported Schulte was arrested for having an open container of alcohol and obstructing police. Officers had the area sealed off to search for a suspect in a shooting. A police canine was being used in the area so the man entering with a pet could be in danger himself. The union president said responsibility for the shooting of the dog rests with the 22 year old man walking the dog, not with officers. Wells said, its unfortunate someones family pet was killed but officers were left little choice but to protect themselves.
Omaha Police commanders cant comment on an internal investigation. Police had told Fact Finders when an officer discharges their weapon while on duty an arduous review takes place.
:-(
It’s all falling apart. The center cannot hold. Sheer ass holes are loosed upon the world.
Union thugs don’t mind shooting dogs.
Canine execution officers.
and another doughnut muncher earns their dog shooter marit badge...
When I was a kid, the cop from the next block over walked his two dogs on our block to let them crap on our yards instead of his.
One of his dogs bit me one day while I was riding my bike in the street. THe bite was hard and on my thigh.
On another occasion, his two dogs chased my stepmother into the house and I had to kick them away from the front door. Of course, no apology was given.
On another occasion, one of my dad’s friends came over and those two dogs started chasing him. At that point, the friend kicked them away and the cop bitched about it.
Memories like those shaped my opinions about cops early on.
Yes! let them shoot my dog, if they are stoopid enough.
Aggressive, growled and showed its teeth?
That could apply to most of the Dems in Congre$$
I wonder how Mall Police deal with such behaviour.
Sympathy to the family and sue the department.
“A dog shot and killed by a cop could have been a threat to bite officers.”
Could have been????? Two year old children could be a threat to bite officers. They better shoot them all.
I used to have respect for and be on the side of the police, but now I see them as just another branch of the government, the enemy within the gates. Too many (not all) are just narcissistic sissys and liars with badges.
According to this logic, we should give mail carriers, meter readers, and so on, guns to shoot dogs.
I understand that dogs can be a danger in certain situations (one of my daughter’s Yorkies would tear the ankle off anyone who tried to enter her house), but why can’t the police use other non-deadly force to deal with dogs that present a real threat?
They will have earned their fate, all by their lonesomes, with their lust to kill and their CYA superiors who sneer at mere "civilians."
Do you suppose they see it on the horizon?
And the sheer assholes have badges, guns and general immunity.
Do you suppose that's why the USPS got it's share of 1.8 BILLION rounds of .40 HP pistol ammo?
“Could have”. Lots of things “Could be”. Pulling a trigger is final. “Could have” is now operational justification for shooting an animal or person. “Could have”.
Makes me sick we have these types of scum ruining it for the ever-shrinking number of actual real peace officers.
Let’s hope not. I wasn’t aware of that. Good thing my little county post office and carriers love me and the dogs.
Unions will defend cops working off shift as security for mob run clubs.
So, don’t look for purity of purpose here.

What is the official statement of the Society of Doberman Admirers?
No doubt Odhinn, CED (Chief Executive Doberman) would care to comment.
They taze kids, they taze grammas, they taze invalids, WHY THE H CANT THEY TAZE A DOG ??????????????
They didn’t care about his safety or his rights. They shot the dog to save themselves the trouble of calling animal control. A smart cop would have defused this situation quickly and let the citizen off with a stern warning. They're supposed to be hunting an armed suspect but instead they get sidetracked by this bullsh*t.
The police are often little different than the criminals they interact with, they will do whatever they can get away with. USPS never has to shoot a dog.
They don’t have total immunity. If they threaten and get sent to judgement day I think they will have no immunity from judgement. Last year in Feburary I was awakened at about 4 a.m. by a loud banging and shouting at my door and a powerful flashlight shining through the glass. I was asleep in my undies. I threw on a trench coat, got my short mossy 500 in my left hand under the coat and my 40 cal in the right pocket. The dogs were going crazy. This person had a cop cap on, but I do not care about that at all. I cracked the door at the ready and he was yelling at me about a car stuck in the snow in the road in front of my house. I told him I did not own a car, only the SUV in my driveway. This phuk could have run the license plate, but he had to do this. Had he made even a slight move toward his gun he would have been hamburger. My dogs were doing their job and he was being a threatening jerk. The dogs were really clued in on his aggressiveness which was his fault. If he had made a move at all I had my hand in my pocket on the 40 cal pointed at his head and would have followed up with six 00 buck. Cops really need to consider what they would do if in the same situation and accept that it could happen to them if they don’t act as civil servants, but as tyrants. Because no tyrant deserves a natural death.
Police have become ‘law enforcement’ instead of ‘peace officers’. A very big difference in what those two concepts infer as the job of the police. Law Enforcement is uniformed bureaucratic tyranny, hall monitors with guns and the right to shoot you. Remember the people who were hall monitors in high school.
Power hungry little pukes anxious to trot out their little tin badge and invoke the principle’s authority.
You're willing to take it on faith, since it wasn't announced in a formal bulletin from the Ministry of Truth, that they didn't get a share of the new toys, when the federal WEATHER SERVICE, (NOAA) got how many hundreds of thousands of rounds?
I'll wager you actually still believe this is a Republic.

Trigger Happy
by Weird Al Yankovic
Got an AK-47, well you know it makes me feel alright
Got an Uzi by my pillow, helps me sleep a little better at night
There’s no feeling any greter
Than to shoot first and ask questions later
Now I’m trigger happy, trigger happy every day
Well, you can’t take my guns away, I got a constitutional right
Yeah, I gotta be ready if the Commies attack us tonight
I’ll blow their brains out with my Smith and Wesson
That ought to teach them all a darn good lesson
Now I’m trigger happy, trigger happy every day
(Oh yeah, I’m)trigger, trigger happy
Yes I’m trigger, trigger happy
(Oh baby, I’m)trigger, trigger happy
Yes I’m trigger, trigger happy
(Oh I’m so)trigger, trigger happy
Yes I’m trigger, trigger happy
Better watch out, punk, or I’m gonna have to blow you away
Oh, I accidently shot daddy last night in the den
I mistook him in the dark for a drug-crazed Nazi again
Now why’d you have to get so mad?
It was just a lousy flesh wound, Dad
You know, I’m trigger happy, trigger happy every day
Oh, I still haven’t figured out the safety on my rifle yet
Little Fluffy took a round, better take him to the vet
I filled that kitty cat so full of lead
We’ll have to use him for a pencil instead
Well, I’m so trigger happy, trigger happy every day
(Oh yeah, I’m)trigger, trigger happy
Yes I’m trigger, trigger happy
(Oh baby, I’m)trigger, trigger happy
Yes I’m trigger, trigger happy
(Oh I’m so)trigger, trigger happy
Yes I’m trigger, trigger happy
Better watch out, punk, or I’m gonna have to blow you away
Come on and grab your ammo
What have you got to lose?
We’ll all get liquored up
And shoot at anything that moves
Got a brand new semi-automatic weapon with a laser sight
Oh, I’m prayin’ somebody tries to break in here tonight
I always keep a Magnum in my trunk
You better ask yourself, do you feel lucky, punk?
Because I’m trigger happy, trigger happy every day
(Oh yeah, I’m)trigger, trigger happy
Yes I’m trigger, trigger happy
(Oh baby, I’m)trigger, trigger happy
Yes I’m trigger, trigger happy
(Oh I’m so)trigger, trigger happy
Yes I’m trigger, trigger happy
Better watch out, punk, or I’m gonna have to blow you away

I don’t recognize the gutted shell left over from my once proud nation of free moral people.
I think I am done flying my US flag. I am getting to the point where all it does is remind me of the fine nation that no longer exists.
My US flags are folded into cocked hats & will never be flown. Each once covered the coffin of a veteran hero.
This nation has been hijacked.
Anything a union says is total bullshit.
>> an officer shot and killed the dog
What a #ing pussy.
Hijacked or sold out.
I think we have been sold out to the UN one-world government group. GW Bush was every bit the New World Order globalaist that George Soros is. He may not be evil like Soros, but all of them have sold us out. Daddy Bush was completely in bed with the UN.
The last president we had who didn’t sell us out was Reagan.
I’m seeking verification. President Reagan is famous for saying “Trust, but verify”.
You have no objective evidence to back up this claim? Is it merely a rumor which you have repeated without first verifying its veracity for yourself?
The problem isn’t inability to taze a dog.
The problem is that they relish intimidating law abiding American citizens by the implicit threat made when they shoot a dog.
We’re not dealing with incompetence, but malice.

It was all over the news in the last 5 months....
It is not unreasonable to request a source. You should have simply said that you recalled it from your reading.
Absolutely infuriating. It “could” have been a threat? If a normal person shot a dog and said that, it wouldn’t fly. A cop does it, it’s ok.
He said “Ruck rou, rou Razi rigs!”

— I fully agree, I just don’t know what we do next.
Food for thought, just my two cents:
For the first time since the Civil War, the word “secession” is being publically and seriously discussed complete with mass signatures.
And this time, it’s not just the South.

The article says it was a dog he shot, not a cat.....Oh wait I see what you mean.... never mind!
Have you discussed taking him to a canine assertiveness training class? I think he is suffering from that unfortunate canid malady of being unwilling to express his true opinions in front of his pack leader.
What say you?
You seem to be recollecting the 174,000 rounds of hollow point bullets the SSA ordered. *That* was all over the news.
1.8 billion rounds for USPS?
Still unverified, but you are welcome to verify the matter.
“Sgt. John Wells told Fact Finders, Based on the video I dont see that the officers acted inappropriately.
We need a number of things to protect us against these maniacs.
1) Civilian review boards with the power to review cases and fine, suspend or fire cops.
2) Residency Laws - if you don’t LIVE in a community, you can’t POLICE that community.
3) Replacement of all “police chiefs” with civilian Law and Public Safety Directors who are not and never have been cops and answer to the Civilian authorities not his fellow officers.
4) Dissolution of the FOP and PBA. No government employees have any right to unionize.
We have allowed thugs in blue and those who cover for them to establish an elite class of protected, overcompensated, rogue villains who answer to no one but their paramilitary peers.
