I don't want to live on this planet anymore.
11-6-2012 | Anthony

If Obama is reelected, this country will fall.

I'm 27 years old and have nothing going for me. More companies will go out of business, and more jobs will be lost and shipped overseas. I'm going to be fined because I won't be able to find a job to buy worthless government healthcare.

I came home from voting upbeat and confident. Now I feel useless and I'm at a crossroads in my life that I fear and don't want to face.

I'm almost 30, and I have nothing. What the hell am I going to do?

It’s not worth thinking about that, honestly. You may as well assume that USA has already ceased to exist.

Focus on your own survival, and immediate loved ones if need be.

That’s the problem. Where can we go without jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire???

I got nothing for you man.

If you’re thinking of doing something drastic, at least consider joining the French Foreign Legion. You’ll learn French, get to see Senegal or Guyana, and after 4 years you can choose a new French name and move to Paris when you get out of the service. Paris is filled with good looking women. Boy, that’s some city. Believe me you.

Let me suggest for your new name: Jean-Bertrand du Charlebois.

Oh please. Pick yourself up by the bootstraps, take an anti-depressant, and get busy. Whining about your perceived plight on FR is nonsense.

I was afraid to post this dream I had. I was 50, had a young wife and small children, I remember having a locket around my neck. I was in the woods with my father, who was close to 80. It was Civil War II we were fighting and the bad guys were closing in. All I remember is I had an M1 Garand (or maybe the M1 carbine) and .45 (like my grandfather had at Normandy) and I remember saying to my Dad, “if we make it to the Blazer, we’ll be OK.” We made it, fired it up and escaped. I woke up in a cold sweat with my heart racing. Is this our future? I did not tell this dream outside my mother and father.

You’re thinking like a liberal, guy. Your success depends solely on you. You make your own opportunities.

If the economy were upbeat, you could find a job for some other guy, work for him. But that’s unlikely. You need to make your own job. Which in the longer run will be better because if you can start your own successful business (for example) then you will be dependent on no one.

The other guys in this thread also have great advice. Cheer up!

27???

Man, you are one lucky dog.

Move to Texas or Idaho, or some good state while you are young, and build your own world of good, wholesome, caring people, that can understand the things that you talk about whether they agree with them or not, and that share most of your values.

Actually, at age 27, you should be able to go anywhere, hang out with anyone of any type, and always have a good and interesting time.

I think you need to take a deep breath. There will always be winners and looser, givers and takers...

I’m old. I’ve saved all my life and am comfortable. If the economy collapsed tomorrow, there would still be “rich” people and “poor” people. I have no doubt whatsoever that if everything was reset... I’d be back on top again almost immediately.

Now I feel useless and I'm at a crossroads in my life

I don't want to sound uncaring, but you'd better get your shit together soon. If you are still useless under fully-implemented ObamaCare post-2014, then you won't get any medical care. Productive worker bees who can contribute to the collective will get repaired; the rest will get end-of-life counseling. Or worse, eventually....

If I were a bit younger, I’d be in tears. I share your hurt, anger, depression. Because I’ve been blessed to live for 68 years in the USA, because I’ve been given a wonderful family, a sustaining faith, wonderful friends, and the invaluable gift of freedom, I can weather this storm.

I believe, fervently, that God has His own mysterious reasons for allowing us (as a nation) to ignore and even, thanks to B.O., deny Him. As a nation, we haven’t learned what we need to. As a nation, we must continue to defend our faith, our freedom. We can do that in prayer. My favorite solace.

There are so many ills we are suffering, in every facet of social intercourse. In education, in economics, in living in truth and reality. We cannot, I will not, succumb to the evil that wants us to give up. We must gather our strength, turn to the Lord, and be the best people we can be.

Don’t give up. Don’t give in. You are blessed with life, with an opportunity to help restore God’s greatest gifts: life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. If we don’t work toward that goal, then the evil really will conquer.
Keep the faith. Pray.

I know it seems very bleak right now. I can't believe we've reached this point in this country either, where half the population expects the other half to support them.

My daughter is just a few years younger than you and I fear for her future as well.

All we can do tonight is pray that somehow we will make it through this very dark time. And keep fighting for what we believe in and what we know is right.

www.parathyroid.com

I have primary hyperparathyroid disease. Trying to further my education would be useless right now. I have the same complaints as my 90 year old grandfather, who survived a heart attack in August. I have most of the symptoms listed on that website. Chronic mental and physical fatigue are the most prevalent for me. My last physical hurrah was at the age of 15, when I was physically active all day without getting tired.

I did okay in junior high school, and nose-dived through high school. I don’t even have that good of a learning history. What the hell am I going to do?

Well, I’m 41 and I can’t answer that question in my own life.

I can only say this. I do not want to lift a finger to help this country, in any way at all. Yes, there are good people left in it, but I don’t see how it matters any longer.

I am just going to prepare for the collapse. Yes, I’m a crazy prepper now.

God has removed His Blessing from this nation. It is done. Toast.

My sole allegience is therefore to the Lamb.

“I’m 27 years old and have nothing going for me.”

Nah. You are uniquely gifted by God.

There is plenty of opportunity out there. You will be taxed. Maybe more.
There is also opportunity in other countries - particularly Asian countries.

Go West young man! Don’t rely on dufus government officials to do anything for you.

Do not despair. . . no man or government can save. Trust in the Lord, he will walk with you no matter where you go.
