If it were huge and relevant, it should have been released months ago. The timing tells me its not that big and is intended as a momentary shock. The problem is that the shock migh actually hurt Romney’s momentum.
One of my all-time pet peeves: People who call every time reference “standard time” no matter what month it is.
I would assume his tweet kills that as well as everything else that has been out there.
The divorce, BC, foreign citizenship, gay, drugs, radical communist, father, applied as foreign student, etc... are all out?
According to some sources Obama pissed Trump off to the point that he has spent millions of dollars tracking down information.
According to some sources there will be multiple bombshells today and they will be damaging.
According to Trump it isn’t the divorce papers.

If Romney can't survive this he should not be running.

The time is always in October. He has been very close to the Romney campaign, and Trump has done several fundraisers with Romney. I really don't think this is being done without Romney's approval. In fact, this info might have come from the Romney campaign itself.
Benghazi is damaging to Obama and it's obviously already yesterday's news since it was not even mentioned in the last debate.
Why would you think the media would not spin Benghazi?

In some of the info on Mrs Stemberg it said she did some interior design work at Trump towers. Maybe the Obama team has been pressuring her/paying her to ask for the case to be open, and she asked Trump’s advice. He said do it but keep the paper trail, and he is going to release documents, showing Obama has set this up.
I’m worried that Donald Woodchuck-pelt-on-his-head is going to overshadow the news about the Benghazi emails which have a good chance of sinking 0 if we can just get traction on them.
"Libya-Gate" was not even an issue in the last debate.

If Romney is a candidate that’s so weak that he cannot afford a private citizen working to take down Romney’s own opponent which Romney has nothing to do with, he should not have been running in the first place.
That could be why Trump is going the hype route - to force there to be at least a passing mention of whatever he’s got. Obama’s skin is thin when it comes to Trump; Trump was able to force Obama into a position to post a forged BC on the White House website. Whenever somebody is able to get publicity about something Obama ends up screwing up to cover up. The HDOH stalled for months on AZ SOS Ken Bennett’s verification request, but as soon as Bennett went public with it to expose the problem, action happened - and ultimately HI registrar Alvin Onaka confirmed not only that the White House BC is a forgery but that the actual record in Hawaii is not legally valid. Of course, TPM Muckraker reported the exact opposite, as did the AZ newspapers who didn’t even bother to see the full request and the rules Onaka had to follow when responding to the request. And then because the publicity for the issue was gone, everybody wrote up the story. So like it or not, hype is the only thing that gets a response these days. Trump knows that.
Before the R convention Trump was going to release something, and that was shortly after he had noted that Obama is petrified of the eligibility issue. He said we should see what is coming - and then he was supposed to reveal something at the R convention. Trump also made comments (maybe a month ago?) about the White House BC being a forgery.
He’s indicated that Obama cocaine dealing is too small a thing for the whole country to be impacted and this is something about the security of the USA. I think he may have something significant.
Now if America is so far beyond our own self-preservation that we don’t care, then that is another issue. If we are at that point, there is NOTHING that really matters and we may as well just keel over and die as a nation.
Are we there yet? Sounds like a lot of people believe we are. I guess we’ll see.
