Last night, I gave in and cried. As the Mom of 3 kids, I feel hopeless. The polls show that Obama is winning, whether we try to deny it or not. I keep asking myself "Who are these so-called Americans who will re-elect this disaster we've had in office for almost 4 years?" I am scared. Scared for the lives my children will have to live, thanks to the resident currently occupying the White House. No, I will never call him my president..in my opinion, you have to EARN that title. And the man who currently occupies the White House is much more concerned about being popular with the "in" crowd..you know, the Hollywood Liberals. Who cares that gas prices have tripled since he took office? That food prices have skyrocketed? That most of us who work for a living are struggling from paycheck to paycheck while the lazy people live off of our hard work? Hopeless. I keep going back to that word..because I feel as though we have nowhere to go. And shock. Because I cannot believe we have so many stupid Americans in our country! Don't get me wrong. I will vote, and cast my vote for Romney. But really, is it enough? I don't think so. Fellow FReepers..is all lost, as I think it is?
If I was in your shoes I would be campaigning hard for Romney in Iowa. Why not volunteer at your local GOP headquarters? How about writing a ton of pro Romney letters to whatever newspapers in Iowa will publish?
Bush was Reagan, compared with Romney.

That I can say I am doing! I was elected to my Republican Central Committee, and we just had a ribbon cutting opening our campaign headquarters last week. We are up and running, and getting out yard signs!

No, despair IS a sin. De -spero, lack of hope.
Hope is not a feeling. It is one of the three theological virtues implanted in us by the Holy Spirit.
You can hope even when you are feeling lousy. You can hope when you are as pessimistic as heck. Optimism is not the same as hope. Pessimism is not the same as de-spair. Pessimism and optimism are rational judgments based on evidence. In addition to rational judgments we have feelings, good and bad, related to pessimism optimism.
But hope is not feeling nor pure rational judgment. It’s based on faith. And hope can flourish even where both feelings and reason signal the worst possible negatives.
In this case, as others have pointed out, we have little reason to think pessimistically.—they are trying to discourage us with no real evidence on their side.
It’s easier to have hope when there’s reason for optimism. But even if all the evidence pointed to the worst imaginable outcome, we can still hope—in faith.
Remember this old fable. Only time can judge whether any particular instance is good or bad in the long term. When we take our child to get immunized he thinks it is a bad thing, but we know the larger picture. How much more true this must be for God in relation to his children? Tust that what happens is what should happen and remember this tale:
There was once a young man who came from a very poor family in China. When he was out for the day his horse ran away. On his return, the villagers ran to his father to express their sadness for this financial loss. “Isn’t this terrible?” they wailed. The aged father shook his head from side to side and calmly stated, “Maybe good. Maybe bad.”
On the following day, the lad went out to hunt for the missing steed and to his great joy he found a herd of wild horses and was able to bring them back to the village. The elated crowd ran to his father and exclaimed, “Isn’t this wonderful news? What great fortune!” The sagelike elder again merely stated, “Maybe good. Maybe bad.”
The next morning the boy went out into the corral to try to break in a horse for himself. In the process he was trampled and made lame. When the townspeople saw his ruined leg, they ran to his father to convey their grief. The reply was the same again, “Maybe good. Maybe bad.”
A day or so later the Chinese army came to take all the able-bodied young men away to war.
I gave up cable and pretty much TV a year ago and haven’t watched network news more than 20 minutes since then.
Today, I was in a hospital waiting room waiting for a friend and there were 2 TV’s saying how Romney was being trounced and Mr. Sugar’s words were being selectively distributed. Propaganda is a very disturbing and effective tool.
I could not believe I was in the same country. It is depressing.
Somebody is REAL WRONG.
This will only lead to irrational behavior of the Liberal Base should they lose when they have been told all along that their guy is winning.
I understand your frustrations and fear. I share them. Unfortunately , there are enough parasites, self hating Whites, American haters, and fools to re-elect him. There is nothing we can do about that, these, to use the term loosely, people are lost cause. What we have to do is do the best we can and not worry about the rest. Ignore the “polls”. Ignore the media. Both have sold their soul to obama. Do our job and pray.If that is good enough, we win. If not.... we cross that bridge when we come to it.

Not really - Romney had a very organized team, a lot of money, and actually did quite well in debates.
I wanted to vote for Newt.
No one ever bothers to go back and hold the predictors accountable.
By the way, I’m in boring ol’ Texas, so Romney’s going to win here hands down, despite my protest vote. So don’t worry about me spoiling the party.
But if I lived in a battleground state, I’d do the same.
I don’t think so. To hell with the polls! The only poll that matters is November the seventh. If have to turn off the damn media.
The silent majority still is out there. They only make noise with their votes, i.e. 2010.

I ran into a friend of mine in Costco, yesterday, and she asked me if I thought that there is any chance that we could defeat Obama and she had tears in her eyes.
Then, at the check out, I mentioned to the checker that the Pepcid AC that I was purchasing had been pulled from the shelves for about a year and now it’s back. He shook his head and said that they must have reformulated it. I said, no, the reason it was pulled was because Obama had made a deal with the pharmaceutical companies to force people onto the more expensive prescription medications. He shook his head, yes that was probably right. He said, I’m an economics major and I’m sure not voting for Obama. The lady in back of me, was shaking her head in agreement. Everyone was listening and shaking their heads in agreement.
I went home feeling better.
They are all left wing. Some just disguise it more that others.
However, you have a fantastic opportunity... you live in the important swing state of Iowa. Get out there and volunteer for Romney-Ryan! Please do whatever you can... and have as many family members and friends in Iowa join you.
Volunteering on a political campaign can be fun, but - "fun" aside - what better year to do it? This is the most important election of our lifetime... volunteer and make a difference!
If not now.... when?
