For TV spankings, don’t forget Martin Mull’s “Fernwood 2-Nite” (on youtube) where a school principal demonstrates the proper way to spank a sixteen year old girl, complete with volunteer teenager.

Fernwood-2-night? That must have been one of them-there raunchy new-fangled late night syndicated shows like "Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman" and "Lorenzo and Henrietta Music".

We like older, classic programming.

Heh, heh, “Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman” was set in the generic town of Fernwood, Ohio. I believe it went into syndication as “Forever Fernwood”. BTW, Carol Burnett did an absolutely hilarious sendup of Louise Lasser in that role.

Martin Mull spun off the location into “Fernwood 2-Nite” as host Barth Gimble & his clueless sidekick Jerry Hubbard. The already distinguished Frank de Vol directed the studio orchestra as “Happy Kine & the Mirth Makers”. Yes, it was edgy comedy for the late 70’s. Still fun to watch, IMHO.

The spanking episode possibly was exceeded in low taste by the Fernwood H.S. girls’ swim team swimming on stage, without water.

;^)
