Is anyone watching the Closing Ceremonies? So far, I've seen a quite eclectic selection.
I think so far, the highlight has been when Eric Idle, one of the Pythons, came out and sang "Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life".
TOPICS: Music/Entertainment; Sports
KEYWORDS: 2012olympics; closingceremonies; london; londonolympics; olympics; weird

May or may not have gotten a little teary eyed during the “Fab 5” gymnastics montage. Adorable kids, all of them.

How does someone get caught having sex in a public restroom with homo’s and then go on to perform at the closing ceremonies? George Michael was never any good anyway - watered down lowest common denominator crap he stole from other artists.
To: snowrip
agree. Buncha chit thrown together. The Lennon “sculpture” was almost as creepy as the Big Baby/Fetus at the opening ceremony.

They were trying to avoid any contraversy so much it turned out to be a mush of crap:

What are they doing here with kids jumping on beds? They had I don't know maybe a 100 kids jumping on beds?
I need to pull my hair out now sorry.

Well, maybe I'm just too thick to get this, but wasn't this Olympics about athletes from all over the world working hard, giving it their best and competing for medals? One might think that some of these themes might be visited in these ceremonies...but no, we get a Brit rock retrospective. "Pinball Wizard?" Really? That was played out 20 years ago...pointless, meandering crap that cost millions.

looks to me they are celebrating the national health care which I might ad I know about and there is nothing to celebrate about it as my mother still lives there and was refused to have knee surgery and had to do an appeal which took time and her husband died from cancer waiting to get checked for cancer.
I’m watching it now and they had to show the commie lover from the beatles and play his imagine a world with no religion peacey crap.
Then they have the homo singing, then they have had to dust the cobwebs off these singers, WOW the best part thus far was seeing the British army march on, think that regiment was the Coldstreamm guards.
The stadium looks great and hopefully see some fireworks but thus far it’s been utter crap.

But this is just overproduced dreck, and has NOTHING to do with the Olympics.

don't worry about that. They will have reeducation classes on how to properly diet and live healthy productive life. If that doesn't work no problem they will just implement what they do in japan. Remove anyone that has a waistline of more then 33 inch's from the program saving lots of money.

oh she finally won her appeal and got the knee.
She called me and told me that she had to call the hospital the night before and I asked why and she replied”to see if they had a spare bed free for me”
If they did not she woudl have to wait again until there was a spare bed .
And SOME WANT GOVT HEALTH CARE AARRGGHH. and all because their messiah said it;’s good.[sigh]
They could never do that here what they did in Japan as the black community would be in uproar, hell if michelle fat bum wanted to get people healthy she would let those on food stamps only get veggies and fruit.
yep that will go down good in some communities hey

I so want them to have one segment where all at once one of those Brit police boxes appear, and out comes Dr. Who (perferably David Tennant)who looks at his watch and says something like, Sorry wrong century., and then the box disappears in a puff of smoke. [Looks at the Iranian team] Oooo, there's still an Iran? Bloody hell, I was aiming for 2016 at Rio.

The Spice Girls are still good to look at...
Back in '85, visited London with my two kids at the time and wanted to do something that only the English would do, so we went to Earl's Court to see a demonstration by the Royal Marines. Not long after the Falklands, and it was great. Nice to see that there was some competition from Earl's Court (volleyball, I believe).

Weird those light bulbs on the hats of the guys lining the aisles of the union jack.
Also weird costumes, looked like Mary Poppins at one point.
Now its spacey looking costumes on some guys and what looks like nun habits on some ladies.
