The social experiment that was Barack Obama's election and presidency is over. Way over.
As one who was born in the heart of Boston and worked the political world of Washington for 20 years, I know quite a few Democrats. Some are family, and many are close friends. Most voted for Obama in 2008. None at this point is inclined to vote for him in 2012.
Why? Because they view him as an abject failure across the board and have decided to put the welfare of their families and themselves before the empty rhetoric of the Obama campaign before it's too late.
Because of my time in Washington and past positions there, I also know and am friends with quite a few journalists. I speak with many on a regular basis, and it's safe to say that the majority of them lean left politically.
That said, in off-the-record conversations with my left-leaning journalistic friends, not one believes Obama is going to win re-election. Not one. While most believe Mitt Romney to be a weak candidate, they are still convinced that he will comfortably defeat Obama on Nov. 6.
These liberal and jaded journalists privately admit that Obama has been exposed for what he is: an overhyped, self-invented candidate with no real-world experience who has been frozen into inaction by the enormity of the office he holds.
Obama has no domestic policy to speak of. He has no foreign policy to speak of. He has no jobs program to speak of. His signature health care plan is driving doctors out of the field, crippling small businesses and putting thousands of Americans out of work.
The Obama of 2012 has nothing positive to run on. Nothing. And guess what? He, more than anyone else in his White House or campaign, knows it.

Now there is some hope for change, that I can believe in, going forward. Yes, it is.
Douglass MacKinnnon, from your lips to the public’s ears...
One can only hope
Let's not be complacent.
Most Democrats with a job are disgusted with Obama. They are not only concerned with the children’s future, but they are worried about the present.
And they will all vote for him in November. You don’t become a modern Democrat by being a deep thinker who can take in a lot of facts, draw some conclusions, admit that you were wrong, and then change course. You become a modern Democrat by “feeling” that they are right, and even when things look bad, you just ask the politicians to reassure them that their “feelings” were (and still are) correct.
I, also, live in a VERY lefty city-Austin.
Typical democrat voters like lefty whites and the homo’s, many who are business owners, privately, are NOT very pleased with Obama, especially his attacks on small businesses.
These folks who may be very socially liberal, are still quite conservative when it comes to economics.
I work with a lot of black folks and many of them are quite subdued in their enthusiasm for Obama. Obama’s support of the homosexual agenda will cost him more votes with the black community then the pollsters or media will admit.
The Democrats in the swing states are geared to cheat like never before.
What a miserably ridiculous, stupid, wasteful and masturbatory Presidency we’ve had since 2008.
Less than 100 days to go.
End this. A genuine embarassment which will take generations - GENERATIONS!-- to live down.
Most Democrats with a job are disgusted with Obama. They are not only concerned with the childrens future, but they are worried about the present.
And they will all vote for him in November...
Ah yes, the bitter clingers to hope and change...
four freakin’ years of communist rule and now the commies say they got families and lives to protect.
I agree with you - I want the entire truth to come out, I want the stupidity and chicanery of identify politics exposed.
I live in a very liberal city, too: Seattle.
There is plenty of support for Obama here. The liberal idiots that voted for him in 2008 cant wait to vote for the muslim Marxist again. They are either willfully blind to his incompetence, or just stupid. Either way, in Seattle, Obama’s minions are legion.
Washington is going for Obama no matter what. What matters are Florida, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Michigan... The Democrats are going to cheat like hell in the battleground states, and I hope our guys are ready to counter it.
Sorry, meant to write identity politics.
Same with Oregon, stuck on communist stupid mode.
Two words: October Surprise. I’m sure the “news” media and the Dems are working feverishly on it.
"Most" will vote against 0bama, or not vote at all, in 2012? I don't think so. They will be voting for 0bama, whatever they might say.
One other possibility: . . . at the last moment they might look to supplant our Courageous Young President with . . . Hillary (gasp!)
The courts are so corrupt now we will never fight the cheating there.
How a democrat any democrat can remain a democrat is beyond me...
Zero is obviously trying to destroy the United States.. its obvious..
Must be some kind of a variation of the Stockholm Syndrome..
Like abused children becoming abusers themselves or something like that..
Watching Juan Williams(and others) go thru hoops on O’Really is amazing..
On the otherhand being a democrat must out you as being “EVIL”.. sometimes in a stealth way..
Reading Saul Alinskys book will prove to you any democrat is evil..
i.e.- “Rules for Radicals”- Saul Alinsky..
Good news.
From Big Ears down to the janitor at a public school corruption exists. No nation can stay a premier nation with just this one factor.

“You dont become a modern Democrat by being a deep thinker who can take in a lot of facts, draw some conclusions, admit that you were wrong, and then change course.”
I work around lots of libs. Most are highly educated and yet, for the most part, they emote rather than think through the ramifications of things they espouse. In 2008 they voted for an empty suit with no experience or credentials and it never occured to them that this complete lack of executive ability would lead to an economic and social disaster that we are now experiencing. Liberals simply don’t think in terms of consequences.
All that said, I don’t sense much enthusiam for Obama this go around but most Dems will still vote for him as they detest Repbulicans of all stripes. The best we can hope for is that they don’t contribute money and stay home in November.
The very reasons why we left that dump. I lived there 15 years after I retired from the Army. I met my wife there. She had lived there nearly 50 years, since a kid, and was HAPPY and WANTED to get out of the state also. She went to West Seattle HS. She said, we are out of here and going back too Alabama. 6 years here have been the best we have enjoyed. Retired, happy, in a great Church, with wonderful and good friends. I know of absolutely no person in our Church who voted for Obama or is a dimocrat. If they are, they are totally quiet about it. Everyone I have ever spoken to votes Republican. Our voting district normally goes 85-15% for the republican candidates. One of the ladies who works there goes to our Church and told me that. So, Obama will never ever win in our area. No chance.
I agree. Unfortunately, I think Bambi will win WA again. That said, I live and work on the Eastside and go to Renton periodically. So far, I don’t think I’ve seen as many Obama bumper stickers as I did in the last election (basically just a few here and there). And, have seen some Romney and anti-Obama stickers (such as No More Years).
I wish McKenna would beat Inslee for Governor, but I suspect that isn’t going to happen.
