Do you feel sorry for the poor?

Posted on 07/24/2012 5:38:52 PM PDT by sagar

Am I the only one who feels utter and total contempt for the so called poor? This is the most free, by far, any country in the history of the world, and yet we have these scum-sucking parasites that have not taken advantage of it, instead they cannot take care of themselves, their children, nor their elderly.

When I see a poor person, I am filled with disgust. How can this individual(or group of individuals) live like this and not feel that they have the opportunity just in front of them that the rest of the world would kill for?

My contempt level is pretty high for the poor parasites, but it reaches epic proportions for those that are poor and obese! How can they even live like it? Do they have no dignity? No shame?

America is wasted on them. In fact, America is now dying under their weight.

Sorry for the rant.

What an as$holeish post,

I was extremely poor while still serving on active duty, because my wife and I gave much of our earnings to base families that had children and NEEDED more than we did.

And after my last deployment, my wife was in Law school and I was out of work. Admittedly, we are doing very well now, however I worked mug harder while poor than i do now while well off

Which poor, those that actually try or the freeloading majority that now clog our various welfare programs?

Of course not. All of the more highly paid and respected suckers of debt/revenues--political/regulator class folks--feel the same way and make it quite clear. They don't produce anything of value. But hey, appearances are all that matter in an immoral debt regime administered by such vain, dishonest and lazy socialists.

And BTW, learn to write in English. Illiteracy in the effete is especially ugly.

"Hell, I’m poorer than most and I don’t want anything but government to get the hell out of the way."

Same here and agreed 100%! Well said.

“The vast, vast majority are poor by choice.”

Don’t tell that to those who use sob stories. Eg: “my poor single mother worked 5 jobs to raise me and we ate out of dumpsters”, “I am poor and good hearted, unlike you asshole”, “the economy has been bad”, “waah waah, it is everybody’s fault except mine”, etc.

If an able-bodied and sound-minded American is poor, that person is deserving of contempt. Poor by choice and poor by inability!

"I am poor, and I take nothing from the gov. People who live of govteat are disgusting, whether they live on HUD/ACFD/ etc or corporate and ag bailouts/giveouts/name de jour of money given to huge corporations."

Same here and well said. The sooner the socialist political/regulator class of debt and licensed, approved and degreed robberies falls, the better!

The poor are rightful and heroic who have been wronged by the class of rich and lazy socialists! Right on, comrade!

It’s inevitable. The higher it goes, the bigger the fall.

I like being poor. My basic needs are met, since we have always been frugal, have not a penny of debt, and don’t want luxuries or many things people consider necessities. We did scrimp and due to good fortune were able to buy s small acreage (of course I’d like something bigger, preferably adjoining national forest but if wishes were horses beggars would ride) and built as we lived on it. Of course if I somehow came into money I’d find uses for it, as well as the opportunity to donate to worthy causes. I”m not penniless, we had some $ for dental work earlier, but heck - there are always vet pliars!

;-)

Everyone's been wronged by your rich and lazy socialists.

Empathy for the unfortunate is a good trait. As is disgust for those who can but will not work. Life is not so simple.

I’ve lived and worked in China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand (Thailand? ;)... I’ve seen poverty.

There, the folks don’t want a handout, they want a chance. Most all are hard working and industrious, they just don’t have the opportunity. I was amazed at some of the ways they’d come up with, just to put a little food on the table, which they’d gladly share.

We don’t have poor in this country, not by any rational definition.

No, I don’t feel sorry for the ‘poor’ in this country, guess I’m just mean spirited.

To be poor in America is an indulgence. There are no ‘’poor’’ in America.

Didn’t you hear, the poor in America are because of the lazy and rich instead, at least according to familyop. The sob stories here in this thread is making Karl Marx blush.

Yeah, you sound really poor with that acreage, vanity dental work, tax-deductible donations, and retirement accounts. I bet you are really a poor guy taking personal offense to my original post.

Acreage? A few acres bought with cash in a cheap area.

Vanity dental work? Nope, saved a couple of teeth, ha, you couldn’t call it “vanity” if you saw ‘em.

Donations? I said I wish I could.

Personal offense at your criticism of poor people? Nope. You should only criticize those sucking govteat, though.
