No more sports *PERIOD* for the entire university for 50 years!

Seriously. Shut it all down. I'm sick of this BS. I don't even care who is to blame anymore. Paterno, Sandusky, Larry, curley, or moe...I really don't give a (expletive deleted). Fire all current staff and shut it down...from the very tipity top all the way down to the towel boy and the cheerleading squad. I don't give a damn if the problem is only in the football program either. Shut down every goddam sport at Penn state. Bulldoze the sporting complex and plow up the fields. All of it.

The conservative response to the media-lynch job here is frightening.

I suppose you support bulldozing every catholic church in the country as well right?

—I don’t even care who is to blame anymore. —

I’m with you. It’s a school in one of the few states I’ve never been in and none of my kids is likely to attend there.

That makes this story, compared to all the other news stories being covered the last year or so, page 27 material.

IOW, I don’t care either.

Yeah, sure. Punish everyone for the mistakes of a few. Kind of a childish reaction, IMHO. I also think that quite a few in the MSM are piling on here because PSU is a relatively conservative school.

I guarantee that 99.99% of PSU alumni and students would have supported firing Sandusky in a heartbeat given what he had done. The people in charge who touched this tar baby should be fired and, if warranted, prosecuted. I also think that Paterno’s statue should be removed. Maybe suspend the football program for 1-2 years for good measure. Anything other than that is overkill.

Ok just have a four year phase out of ALL sports.

Sorry but it has to be all of them. From the women’s rowing on up.

A four year phase out keeps new kids from being penalized and allows those in to finish. In the alternative allow those who transfer out of penn state to not affect the team caps of the recieving schools. this also includes screening players to ensure they were not active participants in the sandusky homosexual scandal.

I still the the shut it ALL down period is the best way to go. 50 years allows two generations to pass.

40 the same.

no less then 20 years to put a knife in how serious this is to be taken and an example to be set in all schools and in all sports. There is no place for such deviancy in society.

You don’t kill off all sports because that doesn’t hurt the perverts, it hurts hundreds of kids across however many years you kill off sports. The goal is to punish those that actually deserve the punishing.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh gimme a break. Those kids can go to some other school. I’m punishing the school, not the kids.
Are you the guy in charge of maintaining and administering the WWII monuments in Germany? Same approach.
it is not enough.
this conduct IS institutional.
The students can transfer. Should keep their scholarships regardless.
P S U is not paying a high enough price.
Next time you have a headache, cut off your head. If you fire, prosecute and jail everyone associated with this at the school, there would be nobody left at the school that requires or deserves punishment.
But feel free to allow emotion and being caught up in the fervor to over- react.
I'm curious how you came the conclusion that PSU is a 'conservative' school?
A report (with no subpeona power) done by a leftist political hack, hired by leftist Board of Trustees, produced virtually no new evidence yet re-ignite a firestorm of controversy to take down a conservative Republican head football coach.
If you bothered to read the Freeh report, there was nothing new in there that wasn’t already know. He just “came to his own conclusions” based on what was already known.
Since when does left-wing hatchup jobs pass as the truth on here?
Did Paterno not do as much as he could here? Of course not, he could have done more. Was there a systemic coverup orchestrated by Joe Paterno to protect the University from bad press? Absolutely zero evidence to support such nonsense.
I hesitate to say this, because, as an FSU graduate, it will sound like a self-serving plan, but I believe that every Penn State football victory from the time of the first Sandusky allegation onward should be vacated. Joe Paterno would not have been able to survive as head coach if we knew then what we know now, so he shouldn’t be credited with victories he wouldn’t have earned if his actions (covering up for Sandusky) had been uncovered sooner.
This is only fair. When my Seminoles were found to have had some players who cheated on an online exam, we self-reported and implemented our own penalties. The NCAA response was to go a step further and vacate all of Bobby Bowden’s victories involving any of those players. In fact, those players were retroactively determined to be ineligible from the moment that they cheated.
In the Penn State case, I believe that Joe Paterno should likewise be retroactively determined to be ineligible to coach from the moment that he covered up Sandusky’s crime.
As far as I am concerned Eddie Robinson is still the all-time winningest coach.
What really is disgusting to me, is that this story only broke, RIGHT AFTER Paterno passed Robinson for most wins.
Why isn't the whole scandal just chalked up as another victory for Faggot Lib. Here was your scoutmaster type setting himself up for fishing.
The homos always say that the perp is a pedophile and not one of them but he was a HOMOSEXUAL pedophile. The percentage of homosexuals who are pedophiles is much higher than heterosexuals who are pedophiles. Could it be that one perversion leads to another?
Nope. I believe, technically, it’s a year to year thing. Most of the time there is the unwritten rule that they last for 4 years, unless it’s made clear to the athlete that he has one b/c their were extra or something.
He is not talking about buildings he is talking about perverts, whether the Catholic church OR Penn State.
