DH said a little while ago that the Weather Channel (weather.com) had/ has a time lapse of the auroras on their website.

It would take a much bigger CME (or maybe some kind of variables that I’m unaware of) for me to see them since I’m in S Texas. Around Houston did get some good red skies back in 2003.

If you’re in northern Cali, I’d be outside (especially if higher elevation anyway). Spaceweather is showing the Bz is south, so it’s possible.
The admin at spacew.com has issued a warning for the middle latitudes & their little “lights” are showing strong for higher lats & possible for middle.

Just went out and Mars is way, way prominent!

But I gave my telescope away back in 2000... (6 in Meade reflector)...
