Mr. Robert's convoluted constitutional gymnastics to justify voting with the forces of socialism and communism is without any legal merit. His opinion makes no sense constitutionally, legally and morally.
There are two other reasons I am very suspicious of his vote on CommieCare:
1. Nancy Pelosi stated the day before the announcement of the decision that she thought Mr. Roberts would vote with the "majority," on this issue...i.e. the liberals. How on earth would Ms. Pelosi even suspect this development. She had absolutely no reason to think Mr. Roberts would do so unless she had some inside information.
2. Ms. Ginsburg so called opinion is written for the MINORITY, thus making me suspect that Roberts' vote was changed at the last minute.
The media will now go into overdrive and proclaim that Obama is a “Winner” who gets things done....that tends to sway the middle voters...they like “Winners” even if they don’t particularly care for their policies.
I don’t think that Roberts was either bought or bribed. I think that Roberts was convinced by some leftist that it would have been racist to overturn the signature legislation of the Obama administration.
I think that Roberts somehow was convinced that race neutrality is, in fact, racist, that government has the power because there is no such thing as God given rights and that the government therefore has the right (both the ability and the moral correctness) and the power to redistribute wealth and health care under the power to tax.
Roberts claimed to have decided this issue on the basis of the law, but that is not true.

Well, he’s either being blackmiled or he’s DIABOLICAL!! I prefer to think he is protecting his children rather than just wanting to be invited to liberal cocktail parties.<P.If yourecall, the left and the NYT were looking into his children’s adoption to see if they were legal and theadoption lobby and people with hearts stopped them.......just thinking that the liberals KNOW what’s in those papers.

I have other ideas. But then I’m always suspicious of supreme court justices who resemble Johnny Mandel leading Up with People in “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing.”

Roberts was not blackmailed, some are trying to make excuses for him. He is a product of the Bush clan. Remember daddy Bush making the comment “The New World Order”in a speech. The elites of this country are taking us toward a “new world order”. If we are the sheep that it looks like we are they are going to do what ever the want with this ruling. The only chance we have is to win the House, the Senate this November and kick Marxist Obama out of office. Otherwise; our country is going to change forever.

That’s exactly what my sister and I were discussing — blackmail relating to the kids’ adoptions. Still, I can’t believe anyone would sell the whole country down the river for that reason.

I didn’t either until I remebered he had adopted children so i googled and found out they were from Ireland VIA LATIN AMERICA!! And there was talk at the time about being illegal.

If our educational system were at fault, then the problem would be limited to our country and time in history, wouldn’t it? We are really dealing with the mystery of humans. And we have to kind of marvel that our species has managed to survive this long, at least as a series of groups. Don’t you kind of suspect, at this point in human history, the last words uttered on this planet by a human will be those of a scientist - “Oops.” Probably at the same moment, a bill which would have accidentally doubled the deficit will be appearing on someone’s computer in Washington — while someone else is driving the wrong way down the ramp onto an interstate while chatting on a cellphone about his latest published article detailing his genetic modification of the bird flu (research paid for by a NSF grant, of course). The rest of us, meanwhile, will probably be at our desks, working, or off mowing the lawn, or attending a parent-teacher meeting and basically making our common sense version of the world go round until that little “Oops” is uttered and the lights go out. (The preceding lines meant as humor to lighten things up a little after the Obamacare decision.)
