Columbus, OH (my area)... 99 F
Indianapolis, IN... 104 F
Chicago, IL... 102 F
Louisville, KY... 105 F
A weak cold front may bring some relief for the weekend, but it will remain quite hot right on through the Holiday.
thats my forecast
Hey friend. Hope you’re doing better. Haven’t seen you post in a while.
It’s Summer, if you hadn’t noticed.
Doing okay. On a personal note, I really want to go back and get started toward getting my degree is meteorology. It is my passion.. but has been on hold...
These are extreme temperatures by midwestern standards.
That is because the Pac NW is sucking up all the cool air in the country. Barely broke 70 today.
It’s the perfect day to tour a foundry on business. ...and that’s just what I’ll be doing.
Hopefully things can moderate a bit out here. But as far as I can tell it looks like atleast two weeks of above normal temperatures.
Then I remembered our military people in the middle-east putting up with the 120 degree plus heat, and thought, "I don't have much to complain about!"
Look for even more gun play in Chicago this weekend. Those folks don’t have a/c. (what...no obama air conditioners?)
It was 109 here in Rapid City, SD yesterday. Broke all kinds of records. Cooler today, only 89.
The big difference is that it will go back into the 80’s soon for you, my good man. Down here in Texas, that is the forecast everyday until Labor Day. Unless we get some tropical storm, which just makes the humidity unbearable. Down here, the more you get off the couch and do something, the more you get used to it. Go out and live the dream!
105 Mon, 105 Tues,and 103 today here.
Currently 86
Our house usually stays cooler if the windows are kept shut during the hot day. Unless it is intolerable, we do not run the central air. We will have to keep the outside cats watered tomorrow.
Absolutely.
much of the region is already in a drought and it appears it will get worse before it gets better
Labor day?!! try late Oct.
That’s a huge swing in temps.
Being in the city, heat and holidays don't mix in the hood.
Good to hear. Keep your chin up, bud. You're a good man.
Yeah, we’re looking at 100+ across KY, TN, MO, and south tomorrow.
This afternoon, I ran 5 miles, but that was when it was only 83 degrees. I have a 5K race to run Sunday. Thankfully, it’s going to be in the morning before the heat sets in.
It’s heading here to NC by Friday, everybody was rushing to mow their lawns this evening, don’t want to be out in that sort of heat any more than necessary. Forecast has been upped to 104 Friday and Saturday, “only” 100 on Sunday, lol. We see a few days at 100 or so most summers but this is early and above any normal expectation. The only saving grace is that the humidity is off somewhat, not a cloud in the sky, which is unusual in an of itself for summertime here.
Compared to last summer, sure. Compared to typical midwestern temps it’s nothing out of the ordinary.
I can remember in 2002/2003 waiting until 7:30 to go ride 30 miles on my bike, because it was finally down to 102 by then.
Thank you.. I really got angry and had my feelings hurt on here awhile back.. so I have been keeping a low profile over the last couple of weeks..
I know most here are wonderful people and thats why I decided to stay...
I live near Tyler. We have an early fall. ;) We don’t get above 100 after Labor Day. Unless it is the day that I chose to go bow hunting in October.
a drought and 100 degree temps in the heartland combined is not normal...
You can bet Bath-House Barry’s ecstatic-—his regs on coal plants will NECESSARILY make utilities skyrocket.
Cook the youth that support his “election”—make ‘em hot and angry. (Good thing that reg about wheelchair access for public pools was postponed!)
Don't know about that. Projected high here in south central Washington is 90 - 91F the next three days.
;) I am out your way 50 mi Ne of Dallas.
Stays hot out here well through Sept
Yeah, there are some real jack asses around here. Just ignore the banter. You live anywhere near Lake Vesuvius? I sat on some wells down there a few years ago. Those are some serious hills and hollers.
There is no “normal”, there is only weather. If you want predictable, move to California. Relax bro. :-)
Our weathermen here in KC are seeing similiarities to the summer of 1980. We topped out at 102 today and 105 is expected tomorrow. No rain in the forecast through at least July 7th and we’ve had less than 3 inches of rain since May 1st. I noticed today that the shingle oak was dropping immature acorns; it’s going to be a rough winter for critters looking for forage.
Of course. Florida took all our rain and gave us the Heats. I’ll gladly trade them.
It’s all Øbama’s fault!
The High pressure system that normally bakes the Southwest is positioned farther east for this time of year (due in part to the continued troughs along the west coast). The Midwest bakes while here in California...we are feeling great. Once the High retrogrades back to the west and becomes a “four corners High”...California will finally get some of the summer weather. Normally, we will have had several 100+ days, but where I live...we have not had one day that has been over 98° this year.
We have more trees to knock down the wind and make it right nice. Nothing like 100 degrees and not a breath of wind. Like yesterday. Today wasn’t as bad. I even went and did a little fishing in a pond. Yearerday was about as oppressive as it gets. 103 and high humidity.
It’s hot during summer??? That’s news to me. Panic!!!!
I caught a jumper today trying to escape the heat! A juvenile, pre-fledgling Mockingbird in my Live Oak tree couldn't take it anymore and he and his siblings abandoned their nest which is about 15' high and not well shaded. Unfortunately I arrived home and found two dead in the driveway directly under the nest. Noticed the last one hanging upside down by a claw, so I waited.. and waited...finally he let go and I caught him as he plunged. Set him in the back in the shade of hedges and he seem to like that much better. Momma and Daddy located him and resumed his care and feeding.
It's going to be a long Summer.
you are lucky for now !
I actully has not been that bad here in Ohio compared to states just off to our west in reguards to the heat. but that changes in a big way in the next 18 hours
When I was a kid in NE Ohio I recall one of the best $5 I ever spent was on a box fan at a garage sale.
Ohio has some hot spells, but they don’t last long.
I’m really feeling luck...this is great, but as they say in these parts “it’s a dry heat”.
Nothing like have heat + humidity...that is a horrible combo, unless you are having thunderstorms to at least take away a little of the discomfort.
Over here in b’ham the highs are still stuck in the high 60’s with clouds. Must be from all the lefties worrying about global warming.
Rangers won again. I guess it is time to turn down
the a/c and get some shut eye. I can’t wait to hear Pelosi’s cackle tomorrow.
There’s actually been a breeze here and lower humidity.
You Know God is just mucking with You when its 105 and no breeze in Tx.
The winds normally howlin.
Hopefully this means july will be unseasonably cool. Hopefully.
You getting that kind of weather in Alabama? Lucky.
Gnight.
It certainly wasn't pretty, they're going to need their offense to carry them for awhile.
Not that b’ham. Bellingham WA.
Understood. One needs to be careful about baring their personal feelings on an open forum. Most people will carefully avoid stepping on them, but some won’t. I think it’s a lesson we all learn at some point.
Glad to hear you’re doing better, and that you’ve got your sights set on advancing your education. Now, just keep putting one foot in front of the other, and don’t stop until you get where you want to be.
Yep, and I'll be on ladders most every day until then.
If you've worked a summer in the Texas sun, I think you can rightfully claim to love this place (and I do).
