Legendary Lost Cars

Most of us have had the experience of losing a rental car in a big parking lot. Maybe your cousin Eddie has had the experience of cutting his grass for the first time in five years and finding a car. We’re not talking about those cars. The cars on this list are the holy grails of automotive lore. They’re near-mythical cars that have disappeared, most likely never to be seen again.

1956 Chrysler Norseman: The Norseman was a concept car built by the Italian styling house of Ghia that demonstrated the feasibility of several unique styling features like a near free-standing hard top. Ghia understandably chose a fine Italian ocean liner to deliver the Norseman. Sadly, it was the ill-fated Andrea Doria, which sank off the coast of Massachusetts. Given what your average car looks like after ten Michigan winters, after a near sixty year salt bath, it’s likely that little remains of the Norseman.

You wanta precision? You getta Cherman car.
LOL. You reminded me yrs ago when I had a summer job as a go-pher at a parts store. One of the regular customers was this German guy who converted the garage in his house into a repair shop. He seemed a bit "off his rocker" at times but he was the go-to guy when it came to VW's Porcshes and other german cars. We nicknamed him Sputnik, because years earlier him, his wife and then newborn son escaped from E. Berlin with only the clothes on their back and whatever money they had, just as the wall was going up. On a related note, I'd love to see the reaction of some occupunk or 0bammy sychophant to this question: if socialism is so great, why was the Berlin Wall built in the first place? To keep the Mexicans out?

***if socialism is so great, why was the Berlin Wall built?****

Many many years ago I was listening to RADIO MOSCOW on my short wave radio. Vladimir Posner came on and during his propaganda speech said that the wall was built to (now get this) keep the West Germans from flooding in!

I could not believe what I had just heard as photos show the machine guns pointing toward the East.
