Does anyone here have any insight of what is going on with the weekly drops in gas prices? Can we expect gas to finally drop below $3.00 a gallon before summer? Over the last few weeks, gas prices have been dropping a penny or two daily.Fox News mentioned that the demand in China has finally slowed down. What are the gas prices in your town? Lowest in Naples,Florida is $3.49.
Eggssss-ZACTLY!!!
$3.26 gallon here yesterday.
$3.41 in Lincoln, NE.
(Thanks to our Gay/Lesbian/Liberal City Council that adds taxes to our gas!)
On another note, I discovered PureGas.org and it shows stations that sell gas sans ethanol. On my first tank (had almost half tank of ethanol-laced still in when I filled up) and appear to be getting about 2 extra MPG with the current 5% mixture. Can't wait to get under 1/4 tanks and fill up again. Costs about 20 cents more per gallon, but it looks like it will pay for itsel in increased mileagae and has to be better for my engine.
Most folks don't realize that ethanol mixes with water (think dry gas), which means that, instead of water in gas station tanks settling into the water collection resevoir, it is absorbed into the ethanol in the gas. This means that you are paying for gasoline, ethanol, and water when you fill up.
I heard some bozo saying that putting ethanol in the gas was saving us $1.00/gal - kind of hard to believe when pure gas is only 20 cents more. Now they want to up the ethanol to 15% - expect to start seeing a bunch of damaged engines.
The plan is to keep both gas prices and our taxes low until after Obama is elected and then afterward let them both skyrocket as the debt is. By then it will be too late.
Dems are blocking oil production in this country while asking Saudis to increase their production to get Obama through the election. Don't expect help from Romney as he is a one trick pony.
