How I Met Your Mother co-creator Craig Thomas has hinted at the show's eighth season.
The CBS sitcom's next run will pick up where last night's season finale ended, with Robin (Cobie Smulders) revealed as Barney's future bride.

"We ended the season finale with a lot of, for lack of a better term, mind-****s," Thomas told Vulture. "So we'll have to do a whole episode stuck in that time frame. And then in episode 802, we jump ahead... and catch up with everyone."
It is currently unclear if season eight of How I Met Your Mother will be the show's final run, Thomas added.
I still cannot belive that people actually watch the crap that is thrown on TV these days.
I can’t beleive this show is still on, I thought it wouldn’t go three weeks.
It sucks big time. The irony and worst part is that the so-called “playboy” of the show is a real life fag.
The problem is every show on TV is the same show these days with different actors and titles. Nothing but long strings of dirty jokes and slutty actresses who like taking it all off for the general public.
It's called acting for a reason.....
You gotta be Sh##ng me!! In the realm of stupid, that show is just one notch higher than The Big Bang Theory. I skip both and watch a rerun, rerun of two and a half men. Of course in the old days I saw Laverne and Shirley go to the top and stay there for awhile and thought to myself, at that time, man, this country has no future if that crap can pull an audience to make it to the top. No wonder Obama got the Votes to become President. We’re a bunch of total idiots.
Lighten up, it's just a tv show!
The faults are almost universally common in TV today.
That’s not Cobie Smulders.
Who cares?
I don’t watch that, but see previews once in a while.
I can NOT see the brunette whassername without thinking: “This one time? in band camp? I stuck a flute in my ...” followed by a huge spit-take by the guy she was talking to. She’ll always be the band-camp geek in American Pie to me.
BTW, “?” was the weird rising inflection she used in AP...
That’s nothing, lol. Wait until you see Ashton Kutcher play Steve Jobs in the upcoming movie about his life!
People who watch 2.5 men should not throw stones.
hence the reason for the overhype.
It is 100% unwachable.
There is more than enough eye candy elsewhere.
It must be very cheep to produce.
Good point!
For anyone who would um like to know more that’s Lee-Anne Liebenberg, professional stunt women.
That runs against time constraints. The forman is a flashback told in 3030 to his kids. The older seems to be at least 15, so for the show to run to 2013-14 (season 9), Ted would have to tell their mother "I love you" on the first date, and "Will you marry me?" on the second. Does that sound like Ted?
Or Season 8 could cover last 6 months of 2012. Season 9 could cover first 6 months of 2013. They did something similiar on that 70s show, they were forced to slow down the pace of the show.
But I doubt that season 9 will get made. Some of the actors are becoming really successful and they’ll prefer more time to appear in more movies.
It's not. The standard 20 minute sitcom has a simple plotline with 10-20 scene changes and shooting takes a single afternoon.
How I Met Your Mother has a more complex plotline with about 50 scene changes per episode, and shooting takes three days.
‘________taking it all off for the general public.’
Attend live theater.
Three granddaughters, 13, 9 and 5 - all sisters - JUST got cast in ‘Sound Of Music,’ performing in Ojai, CA, July and Aug.
Their mom has call-back for nun,- & baroness, maybe - - -
~ couldn’t resist - - ~
13, 9 and 5??
are they taking it all off??
so proud... lol.
I would never let anyone I know get into any part of the entertainment industry, especially children
Go easy, big feller - !
Upon re-reading my entry, I see I could have worded it better!
Can’t pretend to know all the pitfalls of show business, but a daughter did fine (escaped any sleaze) for a few early teen-age years back in the ‘80’s. Am aware ‘things’ have stepped up since then - - -
Now her daughters love most things ‘Broadway Musicals.’ So for 4 summers she’s been teaching them, and about 18 other home schooled kids, show tunes, teaches them choreography, and they put on a ‘Backyard Broadway’ show, early summer, in their backyard. They design and paint sets, do their make-up - she chooses kids who are independent - can solve problems.
Rehearsals are one week only, 3 hours daily, and then it’s ‘show time!’
She is passing on wonderful music.
Daughter has always been concerned about a safe environment for kids to perform, so she has taken on the task herself.
A woman in a nearby town got wind of this, and started a similar activity of her own, after attending a show here.
I’m betting this goes on in many communities. There seems to be no ‘original ideas!’
When the girls do community theater, their mother, our daughter, is right there. It’s a win-win all around.
The now-5 year old was in ‘Cheaper By The Dozen’ for 19 performances this past Jan./Feb., when she was 4, turning 5. Had lines, entrances, exits. Has been begging to do another play.
Her girls are not Divas - no temperments allowed - mannerly, tho.
Husband/father is their asst. coach for soccer and track - 9 and 13 year olds participate. Nine year old wins the mile in her division.
These are not super-kids - fun-loving, tho.
And attend S.S.!
If there’s credit/blame for family acting, it would be traced to my deceased uncle - a pro on Broadway in the ‘30’s and 40’s, as a kid, who came west for a while. Got rifle-butted by a German in WWII, lost a kidney; died from meningittis in a Canadian hospital - he had left Broadway, went to Canada to join the Canadian Commandoes.
He and my father were from Scotland.
Glad my uncle got to do what he loved - acting - even tho a kid.
Now, you know more than you ever asked (if you read this far)!
Attend (good) live theater!
I should have included the sarcasm tag.
You did give it a weird juxtaposition though.
