We have cotillion here for the 5-7 graders and they are always desperate for boys since the girls sign up in droves and boys are dragged there by their mothers. My kids thought it was stupid and did not want to do it and I didn’t push. The moms who made their sons go said they wanted them to learn table manners from someone else since they weren’t really getting it at home. IOW, they were taught but thought their moms were nuts and had to hear it from someone else.
