What We Are Left With - Is Ron Paul Better or Worse Than Romney?

Posted on 05/08/2012 7:23:22 AM PDT by redinIllinois

Instead of letting the establishment act like everybody is happy with Mitt Romney, how about if everybody in the remaining primaries votes for Ron Paul in protest?

What is the worst that could happen?

At least Ron Paul is pro-life and wants to get rid of the vile, evil, Marxist income tax.

Mitt Romney is saying a lot of the right things, but talk is cheap for politicians at election time.

It should be ALARMING for conservatives to see how many of Romney's people have been advising the Obama administration!!

If you look at their history, instead of their promises, is Ron Paul better than Romney?

IMO, Ron Paul is a raving maniac loose cannon on the ship of state’s deck.

Well said. I would also support over Romney.

Paul is a Constitutionalist. Restoring the Constitution is a prerequisite to restoring the rule of law. Perhaps with a return to the rule of law our people would also rediscover a higher law at the same time.

RP is proRKBA. Willard isn’t.
RP is pro-life. Nominally at least. Willard isn’t.
RP thinks global warming is a scam. Willard is a Believer.

RP has warts. Willard has hemorrhagic fever.

“Ron Paul is far better than Romney, but like you say, why vote for any degree of evil when you can vote for Goode instead?”

Because voting for Goode won’t get the GOPe’s attention.

Ron Paul already has some delegates.

The more he gets, the more chance we have of getting their attention.

[ IMO, Ron Paul is a raving maniac loose cannon on the ship of state’s deck. ]

At the very least we KNOW that Ron Paul is a “Maverick” unlike that poser mavrick McCain... Ron Paul may be the “Maverick of Looneyville” but at least he is consistently Looney and we KNOW for sure that Ron Paul wouldn’t be abusing Executive Orders like Obama has done because he is a principled looney toon when it comes to Constiutionaly Limited government.

True Ron Paul’s foreign policty is downwright crazy, but pulling back from our allies across the world is a lot LESS worse than what Obama is doing. Obama is downright promising our longtime trusted allies and then stabbing them inthe back, where as with Paul they “Will know we are abandoning them” and have enough lead time to prepare themselves, instead of being lulled into a false sense of “in-security” by Obama.

[ simple logic applies here:

fubo is a socialist

mcromney is a socialist

socialism is the enemy of the republic

therefore, if you support mcromney, you support socialism

that makes anyone and everyone who supports him an enemy of the republic

if the choice is between paul and fubo, I could hold my nose and pull the lever for paul.

Since I am not a socialist, not do I support socialism, there is not a chance I will cast my ballot for a socialist.

Period ]

I’m sorry, but it is much worse, perhaps not as worse as we would like, but it is indeed much worse.

Obama wishes to turn the US into a european socialist state, Romney for all the things I don’t like about him, does not remotely have that goal.

I am not thrilled about Romney as the nominee, let alone as the President, but compared to a 2nd term of Obama, its not even a contest.

Ron Paul will not be the nominee. He won’t even come close to being the nominee. Paul is not going to stop Romney from getting all the delegates he needs either. Are we really going to continue with this Ron Paul silliness for the next month? It’s just not going to happen. Not now, not ever. I know it sucks, but Romney is going to be the nominee.

If Ron Paul had come out last year and said, “As president I will not allow Iran to obtain nuclear weapons under any circumstances,” he would have won.

I almost forgot about that.
It would have high entertainment value.

When I get a chance here in NJ, I might just vote for Paul over Romney to send my tiny message to the Republican hierarchy.

But I really think Romney is much preferable to Ron Paul. The first duty of a President is to defend America against its enemies. Ron Paul doesn't seem to think we have any enemies. Barack Obama is an enemy. That sort of leaves Romney. Not great, but I really am for the perpetuation of the United States of America.

At a minimum, Willard will have 1218 first round delegates bound to him, more than enough to secure the nomination. Any antics Paul devotees could pull at the convention will be swept under the rug and only result in tighter GOP-E rules going forward.

Unfortunately, delegates around the country won’t follow the rules and vote for Romney. The conventions going to be a doozy!

You might wish to review Romney’s record before crediting him with not wishing to turn the US into a socialist state.
