Federal officials say the National Christmas Tree planted near the White House a year ago has died and is being removed.

The National Park Service says the Colorado blue spruce died of "transplant shock." It came from a tree farm in New Jersey last year and was planted on the Ellipse just south of the White House in March 2011.

Transfer shock? Would it actually take over a year for this to happen? More likely it was poisoned from the run-off of Moochelle’s garden.

In other news, the Eid bush is thriving, in spite of frequent unscheduled waterings by passersby.

Did you see the rootball on that tree, when it arrived? It was freaking HUGE. It probably could have survived a year with just minimal watering, but since the East Coast didn’t get very much moisture this past winter, the spring shock from new growth might have drained all of its remaining energy. Only God knows for sure. Plant autopsies are problematic, in that there can be several obvious causes of death. Only expensive labwork can narrow it down. I’m betting 0bummer “watered it” in the evenings, after too many drinks.

Or maybe it’s all the fossil fuel exhaust from his all-too-many Air Force One trips that’s p’luting the air. Time to park it and play Monopoly with the girls instead of us.

the tree ran out of carbon credits and could no longer survive with the CO2 deficit as it is

Lol, the National Park Service apparently doesn't know how to grow trees even when it is critical, but they have proven by the millions they know hot to kill them.

That fits. It died a "Natural" death.

Those CO2 credits are expensive, and may be directly payable to AlGore's offshore account.
