DENVER (AP) -- A bear that became famous after it was tranquilized and fell from a tree at the University of Colorado died when it was hit by two cars after returning to town, likely looking for food.
A photograph captured an image of the 280-pound black bear in midair, its arms and legs spread, after it was tranquilized April 26.

There is only one answer to problem bears. All the tranquilizers and transportation and relocation is a big waste of time, money and effort.

It knew where to find food. It knew how to get back there when it was taken to a different location. But it didn’t know how to look both ways before it crossed the street.

Maybe now Shephed Smith will stop showing the video of the bear falling out of the tree. He plays it constantly, apparently for the ‘fun’ value of watching the bear fall and bounce.

Unfortunately, officials are not willing to do what the real solution is.
