BIRMINGHAM, Alabama -- The parents of slain Florida teen Trayvon Martin arrived in Birmingham today, spoke briefly this afternoon in front of the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute in downtown Birmingham and walked with a group of about 50 people to the King statue in Kelly Ingram Park.
"We are going through a lot but it's good to know we have a lot of people standing with us," said Martin's mother, Sybrina Fulton.
Martin's father, Tracy Martin, thanked the City of Birmingham for making his son an honorary citizen in a vote by the City Council. "Most of all I'd like to thank you for making Trayvon a citizen of Birmingham," Martin said. "Birmingham is definitely our home as well."

These parents were not together when Trayvon was alive. In fact, Trayvon was in Florida staying at the house of his dad’s live-in girlfriend. So why are they all of a sudden a family again?

They don't want people ask why Trayvon was SENT to live with Daddy/Fiance. Imagine if Mr. Martin had sent Trayvon to live with daddy because he was uncontrollable and 'this close' to being expelled from school.
Maybe she figured he would be safer with his dad, and that his dad could straighten him out. Maybe she just wanted him out of 'her' house.
The parents had no problem when this first happened. It wasn't until about a month later, when someone in media/politics fed the incident to the big boys, that they protested the actions of the police.
It is now just a circus sideshow.

While the Zimmerman/Martin ‘white’ on black killing is covered 24/7 on the MSM with an outpouring of rage and charges of a racial hate crime, where is the concern- where is the rage about the home invasion, torture, beating, rape and murder of the elderly white couple by a gang of feral blacks in Tulsa,Oklahoma just a few weeks ago?
The 90 year old war veteran husband was beaten and his jaw broken. He was shot in the face numerous times with a BB gun and sent to the hospital in critical condition.
The 85 year old partially blind wife was RAPED and then BEATEN TO DEATH.
Can you just imagine the pain, the humiliation, the horror that dear old lady experienced being gang raped by that pack of feral animals?
(the autopsy states she was raped. Don’t think all of these animals didn’t all participate)
And can you imagine the pain, the horror of that dear old husband having to witness this?
There’s a lot more involved here than a home invasion and robbery.

Cindy was a liberal, but not a racist. I don't know about Ted, but it looks like he's traveling around in a way he never did before Trayvon's death. I maintain that the standard for becoming politically well-known after a family member's death was Cindy Sheehan.

I'm not sure they ever were a family. Were Trayvon's parents ever married? I'm not sure they were.
Meanwhile, the grieving parents of murdered white student, John Sanderson, had dinner at McDonalds. The three black guys who killed him had no comment.
