check it out!! This all female band doing great Led Zepplin covers
Led Zeppelin covered “When The Levee Breaks” when they originally played it. This would be a cover of a cover.
I liked it better when Robert Plant covered his cover with his band “The Strange Sensation.”
That’s on YouTube as well.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KMuRp4vL_Ik is what you refer to or at least one take on it. Youtube is coming in slow for me today so have not heard the entire thing
Memphis Minnie. 1929. Singing about the Great Mississippi Flood of 1927.
Not a cover.
Memphis Minnie and Kansas Joe McCoy wrote wonderful music. Thanks for sharing with us.
Enjoyed the post. Thanks!
Great video, something is off with the drummer. Can anybody tell if it’s a music sync type performance. I can’t tell and the harmonica seems a wee bit to spot on for a live performance.
Judging by whats available on youtube, this rendition of when the levee breaks is their best material.
Screw all that Treyvon sheeeet. Here is some fine black Americans from North Carolina namely Maceo Parker, Fred Wesley and PeeWee Ellis doing James Brown better than James Brown....back in the day more peaceful day like 1992
Pretty damned good, if the mix sucks (the bass was barely audible; the drums should be HUGE in that song). Nice musicianship.
Kashmir - Jimmy Page & Robert Plant HD (No Quarter 1994)
newer and improved like an old Buick Roadmaster.... just saying.....
That just looks painful.
Led Zeppelin has gotten overexposed over the decades, to the point that I only enjoy hearing the lesser known tracks, such as “Tangerine.”
I also enjoy music from artists who are clearly influenced by them but have a sound of their own, such as Slightly Stoopid, for instance the instrumental “Zeplike,” here performed live:
The video is HD so you’ll need a reasonably fast connection.
All female band doing Zeppelin? Lez Zeppelin (seriously) have been around for awhile and have gotten some good reviews.
How does a chick get away with singing the lemon song?
That’s not bad. But you know those Brit musicians from the ‘60s took the blues copied it, sometimes note for note, and wound up with something else. I’m not sure what it is: it’s sort of the blues, but, then again, it’s nothing like Robert Johnson or Skip James. It’s not bad, but is it the blues? I don’t know.
I prefer Dread Zeppelin .. here’s Black Dog.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZHWy6W00oM
How about Hell’s Belles?
I felt it in my toes! ;>
There used to be a Zepp Reggae band called Dread Zeppelin.
How about this version of Hell’s Bells by Hayseed Dixie the A/C D/C Bluegrass cover band http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0t7HLkldXbg
LOL! I saw Dread Zeppelin a few times back in the mid ‘90s. They were a tight group back then, and a lot better than they appear in the Youtube videos.
Can I suggest Metal Elvis’ “Burning Love/Paranoid”?
I saw a bit of an interview where Plant was asked about the photos taken of him back during the LZ days...
He was asked if there was anything he would have done differently for the photos, his answer was “Dress right.”
I think most people would give the same response after being asked about their fashion sense in the past. In retrospect, the Don Johnson look didn’t suit me as well as I thought it did in the mid 80’s.
I borrowed a Hayseed Dixie CD from a friend and listened to it. It was cool.

Ummm, take another look at the photo you posted... Plant wasn't using the word "right" as in "correct," but as a directional adverb.
LOL. I get it now. I forgot about that tailors term for fitting pants.
What a great cover. Most of those 6k views are mine.
I wish they would come to the east coast.
While I really LOVE this band, there are a couple of other LZ covers that deserve mentioning...
Heart does an AMAZING version of “Battle for Evermore,” as do the combination of Allison Krause & Robert Plant.
Both can be found on YouTube.
Nice version plus the sisters have covered quite a few Led Zep tunes on youtube
