04/17/2012 Constitution Party National Convention to Meet in Nashville

Amidst Unprecedented Voter Dissatisfaction with Obama and Romney

Constitution Party National Chairman, Jim Clymer, announced the 2012 National Convention of the Constitution Party which will be held April 18-21 in Nashville, Tennessee.

“American voters who support limited, constitutional government, traditional American values, the protection of American jobs and preservation of individual liberty can take heart! They will not be limited to a difficult choice between Obama and Romney as the one likely to be the least threat to their life, liberty, property and other interests. The Constitution Party will be offering the Constitutional option in 2012,” said Clymer.

The venue for the Constitution Party National Convention will be the beautiful Sheraton Music City Hotel in Nashville, TN. The public is invited to attend but registration is required and anyone wishing to do so should contact the Constitution Party national office at 717-390-1993 for further information. Registered guests will be admitted to all sessions and events, including the gala Saturday night banquet to be held after the conclusion of the Convention, but only delegates who are selected by the respective state party affiliate organizations will be allowed to vote.

Among those seeking the Constitution Party Presidential Nomination is former Congressman Virgil Goode. Goode, who represented Virginia’s 5th District from 1997 – 2009, was a member of the Liberty Caucus, chaired by Ron Paul. Known in the House of Representatives for his outspoken opposition to illegal immigration, his support for trade policies that protect the interests of American workers, for limited government and for cuts in spending along with a balanced budget, Goode joined the Constitution Party in May of 2009 and is now a member of its National Executive Committee.

Other candidates seeking the Constitution Party Presidential nomination include Robby Carr Wells of North Carolina, a former NCAA Division 1 football coach at Savannah State University, Laurie Roth, of Washington, a talk show host and columnist and Susan Ducey, a constitutional activist from Kansas.

The general session of the convention, which will include adoption of the 2012 Constitution Party National Platform and the selection of the party’s presidential and vice-presidential nominees, is set for Friday April

20 and Saturday April 21, with the presidential nominee’s acceptance speech scheduled for 1:30PM Saturday, April 21.

“To the millions of American voters--be they traditional Democrats who once believed that their party spoke for America’s working people, honest, representative government and freedom or Republicans who used to believe that their party represented limited government, fiscal responsibility and individual liberty—who feel abandoned by their own political parties, I issue an invitation to find out about a new path for America-the Constitution Party (www.constitutionparty.com) and to join the campaign to Save America by supporting the Constitution Party Presidential ticket in 2012,” concluded Clymer.

LOL, no they're not. They support things like a protectionist trade police with high tariffs, a Ron Paul like foreign policy, etc.

You mean they want to get jobs back into the U.S., put Americans to work and build up the tax base and get millions of people off welfare???

Why that's disgusting...Romney nor Obama would ever suggest such a thing...

Now what was it you were so heavily immersed in again? Oh, that's right; Complete, insignificant obscurity, with overtones of pointless grandiosity.

Thank you for your input. Bye.

The "Constitution Party" is an anti-Israel John Birch Society/chr*stian dominionist front.

Could you link to any material to substantiate this? I'm checking out their party platform and there are no mentions of Israel (positive or negative). I'm a solid supporter of Israel, and I won't throw my hat into any political ring that doesn't support their right to exist.

Is the theme this year “Profiles In Irrelevancy,” or “Dare to Distract”?

For those of us who live in leftist dominated states (thanks to RINO boot-lickers like you Mr. BibChr Schwarzenegger-Tailer), the Constitution Party is a rational alternative when the Republican nominee has no chance.

Absolutely.. that's why THIS year presents the opportunity to promote and build it.

Wasn't aware of that...Guess I'll have to reconsider my new affiliation...

Tariff’s and isolationism isn’t going to be a winner.

The Constitution Party will get the same tiny fraction of the vote it always does. They are irrelevant to the political process.

The CP, like the JBS, seems to believe (however "unofficially") that the United States has taken over from Israel as the "chosen nation": that the US is a special, unique, chosen nation founded by chr*stians (like Thomas Jefferson, the bible mangler?). This is both Anglo-Israelism and henotheism, two ideologies to which I am adamantly opposed.

Replacement theology is the bankrupt invention of Martin Luther who, after having been rejected by those Jews whose support he was seeking, cooked up totally unsupported teaching in a fit of pique. It was a total misinterpretation of Rav Shaul in both Romans, Corinthians, and Galatians.

Please understand that I am not one of those people who thinks that the First Amendment forbids the states from having official religions of their own.

Your interpretation is both legally and historically correct. I'm all for people instituting rules among them by which they prefer to live as a blessing of liberty... except the Muzzies of course, who have no intention of respecting the rights of those practicing any other religion. By violating that social contract, they are undeserving of its protections.

However, voting for the candidate of an anti-Israel party that has no chance of winning an election in such a crucial year strikes me as not the thing we need to do.

In States like California where there is no chance a Republican would carry the State, voting for the CP candidate is worth more than a wasted vote on a RINO.

“The “Constitution Party” is an anti-Israel John Birch Society/chr*stian dominionist front. When Alan Keyes tried to get their presidential nomination a few years ago they rejected him because he was pro-Israel and anti-terrorism.”

Unfortunate. Is there another option?

Regardless of who gets the Constitution Party nomination, I know I'm going to be casting my vote for a conservative for President... something I haven't done since... Reagan!

You and me both, Scott.

ZC has been asked to source that assessment and hasn’t yet. It’s completely unsubstantiated.

No, actually the GOP, with its craven unwillingness to challenge the Left head-on, is giving it to them. The conservative departure from the GOP is a result.

Excellent post! I wouldn't add a thing to what you just said.

They do appear to be big fans of Pat Buchanon, who is a complete whack job and anti-semite.

I'd rather do what's right than what's relevant.

I’m in!

I’m going to hold my head up high when I leave the polling place knowing that I voted for conservatism.

Isn’t that the whole point of voting in the first place? It’s not as much about winning as it is VOICING YOUR OPINION.

He was right in the respect of papal inerrancy, but he was dead wrong about replacement theology which, ironically, the Roman Church adopted.

The Constitution Party is neither relevant or right. We don't need a protectionist trade policy or an isolationist foreign policy. But hey, welcome to the ranks of the .15%!

But I`ll bet they don`t have a Log Cabin branch.

My point is, every political party is going to have some component that doesn`t appeal to everyone. But I like the totality of what the USCP stands for.
