What books are people currently reading? Any particular fiction or non-fiction of note? Any recommendations from some recent reads?

I just downloaded the novel Hunter by Robert James Bidinotto for my kindle. It's an indie novel and has received good reviews on Amazon. Will report back once I finish up.

Ulysses by James Joyce. 43% done with it and I can’t stand it. I don’t know why I persist but it is supposed to be one of the best literature books ever written in the English language. Unless it has a great finish, I don’t understand 20th century literature.

That list is a trip down memory lane. I read Martian Chronicles as a young teen and was hooked on the Genre for life. I have read a number of them multiple times.

I’ve been working my way through the Matt Helm and Parker series more or less simultaneously for awhile. About midway through Helm and between books at the moment. Currently on “Breakout” in the Parker series.

It's SciFi (biopunk) and set in Thailand; very interesting.

The first time I read “Alas Babylon” was sitting on the veranda of my barracks in the Philippines in 1962. It is as relevant today as it was back then. It’s been years since I’ve read it and I think it’s time to revisit it.
