There is no doubt that she is an amazing singer. My SIL and I were talking about this last week. She said, “yeah, she’s good, but I wouldn’t buy her album. I would buy Colton’s or Phillip Phillips, but not Jessica’s.” I guess we will see if she is or isn’t in the bottom what kind of fan base she really has. I am tired of the oversinging with all the runs.
OK, not THOSE kind of runs! LOL! At least—not YET! Hahaha!
To: Shelayne
I truly enjoy Skylar, and foresee a great career for this gal.

I agree. Jessica is only 15 or 16, she doesn’t have the life experience to bring to her songs that some of the others have. BUT, she’s super talented and will probably have an extremely long singing career.

Yes, she did a good job and Randy and the others should leave it alone. They\’ve done enough pimping for her tonight already.

I do have to say that Jimmy is a great coach — he gives specific advice that the singers can use and apply. Not that crappy “put yourself out there” stuff that is completely useless.
We can see it here in how Skylar is taking this song to town. And I wouldn’t even go across the street to har a lady gaga song...

I’m not really caring for this, either.
But, again, I cannot stand Gaga.

Yes, she’s good. One of my faves.
But that outfit, dear Lord, it doesn’t suit her at all.
I know they got a new fashion guy but he’s awful.
Skylar looks like some kind of ghost in that thing.

Skylar Laine
Another Gaga song. This is the Country version of "Born This Way". A fiddler and mandolin player follow her around the stage.
Very good! A song with words!

J-Lo: I love that version of that song! A more perfect song for you does not exist! Amazing! Crazy! Such a fighter!
Steven: You're giving all the other girls a run for the money. A lot of people vote Country and Western. You cross paths. I really enjoyed it.
Randy: You're a rockin' Country girl. You are so beyond ready to me. Amazing!

Perhaps I am taken a bit more with Skylar because she is the only one of all of them, that truly seems as if she is having a blast every single time she is on stage...and it isnt “forced”...she is just a happy talented gal, and enjoying every moment.

It was a good song choice but way too many voice effects.
He needs to edit the song drama, it hurts him every time.

Mantasia
In honor of his video greeting from Fantasia last week, Joshua sings her Idol victory song from 2004, "I Believe".
Well, it sounds better than the Fantasia version. But I don't know how much of a compliment that is.

Randy: I love that you picked a song that you believed in. You are truly one of the most gifted singers we've ever had. You can sing all the big notes. You pulled back on this one, the lyrics meant so much to you.
J-Lo: You leave it all on stage. You're eyes are tearing, your throat is bulging. I feel blessed that you're in this competition.
Steven: Another step to you winning this whole thing. You could sing the phonebook.

But she is on key and is bringing a nice CW vibe to it...

LOL, at bad timing. On the day Dick Clark dies, Idol begins the second half of the show with a tribute to ...
Soul Traaaaaain!

Hollie Cavanagh
Hollie's second song is "Son of A Preacher Man" by Dusty Springfield. Awesome!

Randy: You were like "Yo I will not be outdone on this show!" Dude, you worked it out! I even like this better than the round #1 song.
J-Lo: Me too! You're showing us a new composure. You're ready!
Steven: I think you can push it even more. You got the voice, you got the vehicle. Come on! Push it over the top.
