What a display of favoritism.
That was the most disgusting display in Idol history. Whether it was all scripted for ratings or really the vote outcome, the judges have made the show about them. I don’t need Randy Jackson lecturing me on who I like on Idol. She is the best singer in America...why not the world, Randy? Even Vote for the Worst thought it was awful and are saying—why not crown the girl now? What about the other six kids standing there?
Your comment is correct, but you forget one thing. This show is targeted to tweenage girls...they’re the ones who each text or call a zillion times every week..and their colection attention span/memory is about 10 minutes..
Congress investigated..now Congress is investigating the NCAA BCS..and the new idiot Blumenthal wants a hearing as to why UCONN can't be in next year's basketbal tourney..but no time to pass a budget...
I guess my 81-year old mother who votes 80 times per night (poor thing couldn’t find the redial button on the phone two weeks ago and had to do it manually) is not a “true” Idol voter. She sits there at 7:59 with a pad and pen in hand just waiting for the phone numbers at the end. I had better tell her to knock it off and get a life. :)
FYI...the fish died..found it floating this morning...buried it in the pot with the palm tree..organic fertilizer..you know..
As long as they had their save there was never any chance that Jessica was going anywhere. But, the save is gone now..... next week will be fun.

In case you missed last night's soon-to-be Emmy award winner for best writing in a comedy, here's Steven Tyler, JLo and Randy Jackson looking completely natural and not at all fake in the face when Ryan Seacrest announced that front-runner Jessica Sanchez got the lowest number of votes. TMZ reported a couple of hours before American Idol went live that Jessica was going to get chopped and the producers were working hard to get the judges to use the "save" on her. Please. More like they were scrambling to find an acting coach who could help the judges' completely choreographed reactions look somewhat natural. It worked! Steven Tyler gave his greatest performance since playing a Skeksis in Dark Crystal, JLo pretended she was one of us watching her movies and Randy Jackson went back to the time when Sizzler told him they were all out of cheese toast.
It is impressive at how JLo finds a way to make a moment all about her. You can take the attention away from the attention whore, but she's going to find a way to get it back! When JLo snatched that mic away from Jessica and told that girl to have a seat, I expected male dancers to drop from above as she broke into a club remix version of the song Jessica was singing. You know JLo had a bedazzled leotard under her clothes and was just itching to rip that orange dress off to hump the spotlight.
Poor fishy! You should totally sue Haley 2 or whatever her name is (they’re all named Haley to me) for causing your fish’s early demise.

I was shocked to see a FB message about Jessica. I was outside with the tv blaring inside. So, that was the big save this year? Jessica should be top 2. I think people after all these seasons just get sick of voting. If I didn’t have duck duties outside (poachers), I could watch my tv.
I really don’t know how you do it. Some of the things I see my classmates do would make me want to kick them if I were the teacher.
Should the judges have saved someone they didn't believe in?
Why not save Sanchez? Would you have been upset if Skylar had been last and they had saved her? I wouldn't have been, because Skylar is one of three people in this competition who I think deserves to win.
I mean, really. If Skylar had come in dead last and the judges had used the save, would folks on Free Republic be typing "America voted her off! DEAL with it, judges" with their fists?
No matter though. We'll probably get Phillip Phillips. Hooray for American Idol viewers who vote 150-200 times each for the cutest person in their demographic!
Really! Jimmy Iovine? He's made tens of millions of dollars as one of the most successful record producers in American history. What the hell does he know? He needs to buy a new flat screen TV so he can be more in line with the AI posters at FR (and reflect the taste of the 12-year-old demographic). Randy Jackson? Steven Tyler? What a couple of know-nothings! What a couple of failures! How could they save Sanchez? She's a horrible singer! She has no finesse, she isn't astonishing beyond her years, she's not nearly as good as the other females in the competition. The pros know nothing, and the hinterlanders who can auto-dial their favorites, know it all! How dare anyone at FR make a stand for Sanchez, instead of against her? What a Fascist! LOL

All season long they remind you to vote for your favorite to gin up the vote. Then “What!!!” all of a sudden we are supposed to be voting for the best. If you taste in music is country then the country person is the best. If your taste in music is rock then the rock person is the best. etc. The music world is litered with singers that are not the best but as an artist they can captivate an audience and personify music in a way they causes a reaction in the listener. And that will always be the best singer depending on one’s taste in music.
They just redifined what this show is supposed to be when it comes to voting. Talent plays a big part but so does creativity and star power such as personality and charisma. So if a person has most of the overall package they can win and not be the best singer at all. If the country singer is not cutting it(they may have a great voice on some days not all) and does not possess the other essencials etc...they want get the majority of the votes. They will get the hard genre vote but most people that are interested in the show will move on to others they like as the season plays out. Also by putting the voting in the audience hands they can’t rule out cult of personialty. So if it is supposed to be the best singer in the competion then they need to cut out the middle man, American, or they need to have a save for the every show each week. But at that point it becomes Judge’s Idol and then becomes techanical singing competition not a star creator show.

I hated the X Factor. Didn’t even finish watching the season.
