Policywise, I'm not all that convinced he would be all that different from Mitt Romney either.

Santorum is clearly the best choice of the candidates still standing.

Any of them (even the moonbat Ron Paul) are still better choices than Obozo.

In my book Newt isn’t much better than Mitt.

It depends on which version of Newt you are getting. The firebrand who led the takeover of congress in 1994? Or the milquetoast who rolled over for the Clintons a few years later and allowed himself to be driven from office with a comparable bimbo eruption?

It also depends on which version of Mitt Romney you are getting. The savvy businessman who organized or reorganized a number of companies and saved the 2002 winter Olympics? Or the failed governor or Taxachussetts who helped mid-wife a state version of ObamaCare?

The point is that nobody knows. Rick Santorum has far fewer warts than either and is basically what you see is what you get.

Newt has gained strength in the past several days. He now trails Romney by about 4 points. Santorum is an idiot for knowingly splitting the Conservative vote. The pathetic thing is, Santorum was never very fiscally Conservative during his term as Senator. Yet he us getting all this support for such.

Both Perry and Santorum need to get out. They will only stop Newt in SC where the last stand is critical. Newt needs SC, or he can't win the nomination.

Gingrich used to stand for Conservatism on principle. He now stands for Conservatism out of political expediency, which is the same reason he starts moving leftward. Gingrich thinks today that a leftward shift on many issues endears him to a press he hopes will buy whatever book he’s got coming out.He is a huge loose cannon, and despite all his better qualities, Gingrich’s ultimate problem is that he believes in Federal Government Solutions to problems that could be better addressed either more locally, or - in the best possible scenario - privately.
