Grapevine police investigate the scene where they found seven people dead outside Dallas in Grapevine, Texas, Sunday, Dec. 25, 2011.
Four women and three men who police believe to be related were found apparently shot to death, and authorities said they believe the shooter is among the dead.
Six members of a Texas family apparently opened Christmas presents just before a relative dressed as Santa Claus showed up, opened fire and killed them before killing himself, police said Monday.
Grapevine police spokesman Sgt. Robert Eberling said the shooter showed up in the Santa outfit shortly before gunfire erupted and was a member of the family.
They found four women and three men, aged 18 to 60, dead. A motive for the shootings remains unclear.
It appears they had just celebrated Christmas. They had opened their gifts, Grapevine Police Sgt. Robert Eberling said Sunday, adding that the apartment was decorated for the holiday, including a tree.
Jose Fernandez, a 35-year-old heavy equipment mechanic who moved to the complex with his family about six months ago, said he always felt safe in the area, but is now afraid to let his 10-year-old son play freely outside.
Bullet holes okay, too?
I had no idea Muslims celebrated Christmas as these victims were in the process of.
I would direct that question to Revolting cat!
Wasn’t Joan Collins in this movie?
I had no idea Muslims celebrated Christmas as these victims were in the process of.
Well how in the F would I know either? I'm not guessing.
I actually put this in news, but someone decided to put this belonged in chat. I guess 7 shot to death while opening gifts on Christmas day is hardly news.
With all this humor from folks like you, I probably should have posted this under Humor/Cartoons!
I had planned to stop at “he opened his gifts and then he opened fire.”
Seriously, though, I feel sorry for the police and authorities who had to view this sort of crime scene on Christmas Day. I’m sure the mental images are going to stay with them a very long time.
Well how in the F would I know either? I'm not guessing.
Uh, you were the one in #45 who mentioned a witness indicated Muslims were possibly involved. I'm guessing this is what generated my comment above.
Interested parties should use a search engine for ‘Jesus in Islam’. It will be a surprise to most.
I have absolutely no idea what this means or where you read this quote.
This is the link to the story and the Girl is on there saying the
19-year old was Iranian and Muslim. So that makes the family what, AMISH?
You may want to watch it before they change that also. They edited the TV story already.
He was a good person!
They not only celebrated Christmas, but the Dad dressed up like Santa, then shot the all to death, Muslim style!
Wow
Yeah . . . good person my a**.
Really sucky situation. Not a family from which I know anyone (so far) — and no clients involved. Really glad that he decided to do this when school was out of session — no kids on the practice fields (which are literally right outside the window).

Knock it off with the keyword spamming. The title does match the article at the source.
Thanks and Merry Christmas.
Uh, I have no idea what that means.
Oh, now I see what he did.

Just speculation, but was it possible he didn't like his family celebrating Christmas so he shot them all to death, while wearing a Santa outfit?
wow...
I’m wondering the same thing. I’m sure there will be lots of speculation — and I doubt we’ll ever know the entire story. My daughters just went to the coffee shop near there and they said it is inundated with news vans! Craziness.
I think these were the first murders in Grapevine this year (we usually have 1 I think — not a big high crime area). I wonder how badly this will skew our stats for the next few years :/ I can only recall one other thing similar to this — I think it was in the 80s when a man killed his wife and daughter, and then himself on the day they were supposed to move — something about bankruptcy and moving back to Indiana. They lived on Brookshire in Grapevine (only know because it was a street away from me and then my mom ended up with the real estate listing).
This really is a good place to live — I swear! The Christmas Capital of Texas thing is huge here — lots of lights, lots of fun silliness with the Polar Express train, and the Gaylord hosting Ice. Just hate to see my hometown splashed across the worldwide stage attached to such a negative story!
Understatement of the year.
The dad was never violent, never did anything to hurt them. He loved his kids and he was a good dad.
Yep, I've heard this a few times.
Thanks for the link.
A brutal sad story
I figure that Santa knowing his plans and knowing that couldn’t take it with him, spent all his dough on expensive gifts, which helped open the doors of the house. There must be treasures there!
It's part of what Mooselimbs do to pose themselves as authentic Americans. Taqiyya is a key tenet of Mohammedanism.
Well, mylife, I guess neither of us is surprised one iota about what happened at this apartment complex described as a "United Nations" by one of the Mexican neighbors. Yep, the ROP is up to its usual charm offensive.
They're just 'All American Muslims'...
Holy Ayatollah!
Rick Perry’s Fault!
Actually this explains a few things about the Santa costume and all.
Aziz Yazdanpanah is a fantic religious asshole who acted out.
I don’t even know what a Yazdanpanah is.
WTF kind of convoluted name is that?
Thanks.
Yazdanpanah ? WTF is that? some kind of yazhole Muslim euro baker?

THEY WERE STRICT MUSLIMS
Yazdanpanah ? WTF is that? some kind of yazhole Muslim euro baker?
If they were strict muslims why were the celebrating Christmas? Why was the shooter dressed like Santa?
Sick monkeys, that’s what I say.
It's like Texas is the new LA...
Everywhere ya go in LA, there is nothing but foreigners, most of which refuse to assimilate, refuse to speak English, or abide by the rules.
It's wasn't enough for the government to roll out the red carpet for millions to enter illegally, so they decided to import millions more from Muslim countries, legally.
What was that, I can’t hear you?
I have not spent a dime in Muslim stores since 2001.
I do pay Sikhs.
I live here.
This is NOT LA
You again?
lol...
They'll just have to let the leaky story keep breaking until nobody cares.
Well, the jokes on this thread started pretty quickly.
Me again!
I also grew up in NE Oh and W Pa where Lebanese Christians were not so odd.
I don’t judge people on religion, I judge them on action.
This guy was a convoluted little monkey.
Dig up the rest of his pals, I’ll get a rope.
American institutions rest solely on good citizenship. They were created by people who had a background of self-government...America must be kept American. For this purpose it is necessary to continue a policy of restricted immigration. It would be well to make such immigration of a selective nature with some inspection at the source, and based either on a prior census or upon the record of naturalization. Either method would insure the admission of those with the largest capacity and best intention of becoming citizens...Those who do not want to be partakers of the American spirit ought not to settle in America. -- Calvin Coolidge
Mylife, dragnet2 hates everything about Texas.
Ignore his ignorance.
mylife, listen to Eaker. He is right.
Dragnut is good at spewing forth that which he knows nothing about.
I would also outlaw white beards and arrest anyone heard saying ,” HO! Ho!HO!” ...oh wait, that would be a lotta people arrested in the ‘Hood.
You ignored the entire story of this brutal mass murder, keeping your mouth shut...Until you see something, which you perceived to be a comment about Texas you didn't like. Then ya stomp your feet an whine and cry.
Never mind about this brutal Christmas mass murder..Not a word about that from you...It's all about, "He said something about Texas"!!
Absolutely amazing. I've never seen so many cry babies in one place.
I told ya a long time ago cowboy, ya best grow a thicker hide.
