ABC believes there are "crazies" out there who have a thing against Chaz Bono ... and network execs have taken precautions by ordering security for Chaz both on and off the "Dancing with the Stars" set.
Sources connected with the show tell TMZ ... there have not been any specific threats against Chaz, but the honchos know there's an element of hatred out there and they feel it's necessary to block Chaz from harm.
As a result, we're told Chaz will get security while he's on the CBS Television City lot -- where the show is filmed -- and off the premises as well.
This isn't the first time DWTS has had to deal with security issues. The show provided security for Bristol Palin after an anthrax scare last year.
He should have just laid low instead of searching for the spotlight.
This life could end badly.
Just a publicity stunt. She doesn’t need protection, more likely she will need a paramedic when she has a heart attack jumping her fat ass around.
The show thinks this will increase the audience.
Hopefully no one watch’s.

Disgust, probably.
Loss of interest, yes.
Concern for society, damn right.
A bit of sadness for Sonny's legacy, yes, for us oldtimers.
But from where I stand, hatred is largely reserved for the left, the ROP, and the one foam at the mouth sect that pickets GI funerals.
PS: Gotta love the part about Chazdiddy being an "advocate, writer, actor, and musician"...seen her CD or DVD at Target lately?

I'm sick of crazies. I wouldn't put Chaz in that category, but I would put Chaz's critics in it.
I know “Chaz” is very troubled and I sure would NEVER let my kids watch DWTS with herm on it...That said, I have see herm on a few interviews....I wasn't seeking it out, believe me...And the sad, very sad part is, this person seems like a genuinely nice, unaffected by her goofy mother's upbringing and $$$, human being.
I think those operations are immoral. I do believe after reading a few cases, that a lot of these people deeply regret what they've done a few years down the path.
I don't want this kind of weirdness on prime time, network tv...Normalizing yet another abnormal behavior. But I feel very, very sad for this person. I think those of us who pray should send one her way.
She must have been miserable in her own body for so long that she did this outrageous thing to herself. I can't imagine.
Well, I know I'm going upstream on this one, but just wanted to ad my 2 cents.

I can’t be the only person who thinks that this is one of the most sad, disgusting, repulsive, revolting, creepy, insane, perverse, odd, strange, pathetic, bizarre and sickening things I’ve ever seen. This is so totally self-indulgent. Mostly it’s sad and creepy. How can anyone be so totally self-delusional?
Of course, Chaz’s body is his to do with what he wants. I respect individualism (isn’t that what conservatism is all about?), so I respect his choice to adopt a masculine identity. It’s distressing that so few here do the same.
It’s telling that when, as female-identity Chastity, she came out to her parents as a lesbian, it was conservative dad Sonny who was tender and accepting, and lefty mom Cher who went batshiite wacko hysteric. Cher has come around by now, and I’m happy for both of them that they’re on good terms. But there’s no doubt: Chaz needs his daddy.
Sonny Bono was one of the good ones. He had a sharp mind, a ready humor and an intuitive grasp of the issues which he could distill convincingly. (Example: when, on a radio show, the host said “Let’s talk about illegal immigration,” Sonny’s answer was one for the ages: “What’s there to talk about? It’s illegal.”) I miss Sonny greatly and wish he were still with us. I’d suggest that anyone who values individualism adopt his example.
Do it for Sonny, folks.
My mother just called to make sure I watched it and I told her that there was no way I was going to add to the number of viewers. They are just using a poor screwed up freak to make advertising money and I will just not support it.
But not for the sake of "individualism" - that would render the term meaningless & enable even more moral corrosion.
Do it because its what Christ urged us to do.
What in the world happened to poor Chastity?
