Bachmann also had a decision to make about the direction of her career. In fact, York referred to Bachmanns statement that she didnt want to pursue a degree in tax law, though ultimately deferred to her husbands judgment on the issue. She rightly heeded her husbands advice and counsel on the direction of her life. This doesnt make her a passive non-entity who, if elected, would be the Wife-In-Chief instead of the commander-in-chief. Theres nothing in the Bible that says she must defer to her husbands judgment in how she does her job. Moreover, she would have a legal, occupational, and yes Biblical responsibility to perform that task. In other words, when you hire a Christian woman, you arent really hiring her husband. Similarly, when you vote for a Christian candidate, you arent actually voting for her husband.

The concept of submission is a bit more nuanced than our feminist sisters understand.
Exactly true. I grew up with 4 sisters, a mother, step mother and full set of grandmothers and great grandmothers. Respect for women was instilled in me every day of my life. That said, I've also learned that in a relationship setting, most women like a man to take charge in some situations. The trick is in learning where she wants to sit back and let me take control and where she needs to stand on her own.
Submission does not mean unequal in this sense.

Low blow question.
None of our business how she acts in her marriage.

I thought she gave a fine answer.
I see that she’s still Glenn Beck’s top pick.

I loved her answer. She lifted up her husband and herself at the same time.

Hi, CC.
To me, the question attacks her faith. “Wives, be submissive to your husbands. Husbands, love your wives as Christ loves the Church.” And, yes, she gave the perfect answer. Frankly, she looked taken aback to me when asked, a bit like Sarah when Couric asked her, basically, whether she reads.
These questions that imply the political nature of Christian beliefs are not fair game, except for the political implications of our laws contrary to Christianity. No other religion gets that snootiness. I don’t know who the h* these people think they are, but they are not worth my time.
I see I am getting contrary in this answer. It’s not directed at you, CC. Hope you know this.

Low blow question. That was my first thought. But on reflection, it was about a statement she made, and you know she was going to have to address it eventually. Better to ask it now, so she could answer it straight up, and hopefully put it to rest.

Some complained about the fight between she and Pawlenty but it needed to be done. He’s pretty much done and she showed that she can stand on her own against the big boys.

T-Paw is as lame as his jokes. His only contribution so fare was coining “Obamneycare”, which he backpedaled away from in the first debate like the wimp he is. He must have caught flak for that, so he defended it this time. But he never really answered Michele’s attacks about backing a healthcare mandate, because he can’t. He’s toast.

So many pagans misunderstand this and think a wife promises to be submissive to ALL men.
MAY THIS NEVER BE!
Backman could have replied, “The Bible teaches a wife to be submissive to her husband. You are not he.”

I didn’t buy his “You have no record” tactic because the RINOs and democrats tried the same thing with my congressman. His first two years in congress were as a freshman in Nancy Pelosi’s house.
Frankly at this point, just standing up to the idiocy we see in congress is a better record than going along to get things done.
