We’ll be watching the Falling Skies finale.
Gonna pick up “Flashback” by Dan Simmons this week.
I guess new Torchwood will be on netflix sometime unless there is a good torrent to pull it from.
Not sure. Netflix and Starz have been having negotiation problems, in general. Starz and several premium and networks are mandating delays before their programs are available.
Do you use Usenet?
I am really looking forward to the final two episodes of Falling Skies tonight.
Okay, you think Torchwood is darker than last season, when some aliens were using our children to maintain a "high"??? It is dark, but the concept last year was very disturbing for me. However, I will admit that the "torching" of one of the characters on Friday did make an impact on me. What do you think of the "we are now angels" turn that Danes has taken?
Pretty much everything about Danes I don't trust. I keep wondering when he will snap and kill that PR woman.
I think it is a matter of time that she gets killed. I think Bill Pullman deserves an award for his acting in this show.
I did at one time a few years back. I guess I need a client like newsbin or some such.
Absolutely. I was thinking the same thing.
So, is anyone else going to not clamor for second season of Outcasts?
Meantime, on BBC America, Commander Adama was just shot by Sharon.
There will not be a second season.. BBC Cancelled Outcasts.
Had I not know that there were only 8 episodes total, I wouldn't have stuck it out to watch the last 3 or 4 of them. Train wreck involving just a handcar, rather than a train.
Bad acting; bad execution of what could have been a decent story; not written nearly tight enough by more than half; too many totally extraneous threads; too many deadheads getting away with way too much for the situation; failure to communicate enough basic background information in the initial setup; I could go on, but....
Oh, and why on any planet, in any sane universe, would they try, time after time, to physically land ungainly deep-space craft, instead of orbiting & using shuttles...like CT-10 finally did?
I will not miss that show.
Nothing like a major plot change in the last minute of the last episode of the season on ‘Falling Skies’.
Rumour hath it that there are problems behind the scenes with Doctor Who too. A season in 2012 is looking unlikely.
What kind of problems?
Steven Moffatt (head writer) is also head writer of the unexpectedly successful detective series "Sherlock". That is due another season and there are fears he might struggle to do both.
The second part of the 2011 season is due to air soon and it looks pretty promising. One episode sees the Doctor going back to 1930's Germany where he meets the greatest mass-murderer of all time - and Adolf Hitler too :) Maybe there will be more information as to what happens in 2012 after that.
I’ve enjoyed every episode in the short season of Falling Skies but was disappointed with the “out of left field” ending. Considering that, and the return in “summer 2012”, I’m not optimistic on the fate of Falling Skies.
I hope they resolve this soon Matt Smith & “Amy” have great chemisttry together. I like Rory too.
I’m looking forward to the last half of the season.
I might have to see if Sherlock airs on BBCA—sounds interesting!
Thanks fot the info.
I would have thought it would be the kind of program that would make the transatlantic crossing. I’ve only caught a few episodes for work reasons, but basically its the adventures of “sherlock holmes” only transposed to the here and now. Sounds a stupid idea - but in fact it works really well.

Sounds like something I would like—hopefully BBCA will pick it up.
Heads up, Netflixers! Just found and added Sherlock to my Netflix Instant queue.
Oh good. Please post what you think of it.
However, the second episode was horrible. Took a serious turn for the worse. I almost gave up, but there was only one more, so I gave it a shot. I was glad I did. It wasn't as good as the first, but it was still really good, if a bit hard to follow.
So, all in all, thumbs up from me, even though it isn't really sci fi, unless you consider shows like Psych and the obvious ripoff of that show The Mentalist sci fi.
Makes me wish I’d caught more episodes!!
