Good morning! There are seventeen months left until we retake the country, until November 2012. As far as I know Caligula is the only one who has declared for the RATS. The GOP field is shaping up with many contenders. Sarah Palin is on a JERK THE MEDIA AROUND bus tour in the Northeast and elsewhere to call attention to America's founding documents and our founding fathers and principles. She has promised her radio talk friends in Alaska that she would tell them first of her decision to run. That hasn't happened yet.
And in the hypocriscy department, Caligula's administration spends more money on limos than it does on Food Stamps. Everyone is equal, except some are more equal than others.
Yesterday it was 106 degrees, but don’t know the heat index, it’s already HOT and I MUST get out there and water my gardens. The okra love this weather, the squash and cucumbers are wilting and the tomatoes are growing in size. I wonder what the dog days of August will be like.
I could almost copy your entire post and have it for mine. The plants aren’t exactly the same, but this is August weather in June. I started watering at 0730 and will break off about 11. Then, I’ll resume about 1600. I shut off watering around 2100. Tomorrow I’ll do the same. I’ve heard the theories about the best time to water. I have to water almost throughtout it seems.
We’re big into wedding planning these days. The youngest is like me, plan early and make lists!
Just came in from watering. It will be 95* here today.......Definitely August weather here, too.
It’s hot here - about 96. They are trying to make us feel better about the heat though - it will only be 77 during the night. Doesn’t that make you feel better?
By the way, in case you didn’t hear about it, we have wild coyotes in Decatur. A number of dogs in one neighborhood have been killed and it is definitely a coyote kill. They aren’t sure how many coyotes but are telling everyone to keep their dogs close to home.
I knew we had coyotes - or at least one because I saw him/her - but I had no idea there were lots of them. Duh!
Wow! I feel great now. 77 at night. Time to break out the winter gear.
It doesn’t surprise me about the coyotes. I bet they live in the culverts and creeks near the railroad. Does that sound plausible?
I’m a bit like y’all. I plan early and Roomey makes lists. I work the early stuff around whatever happens before the event, and Roomey has his list. He waits till so close to an event, I’m almost prostrate wondering if he’ll make it. But he’s a logistics person and then “we” get the end part done.
Coyotes live well in suburbia. We live on the edge of town, our driveway begins where town ends. (We live in the country) Many times when we’re sitting on the patio at dusk we can hear the puppies yipping. It’s not at all surprising to see coyotes run across the golf course early in the a.m. or even very late afternoon. They love cats.
One year I was smoking 17 briskets for the church, I smoke them at 200 degrees for about 20 hours. When I went out to check the fire in the pit, I saw about 4 pair of eyes, on the far side of the 3rd green, watching. They could smell the meat cooking. As far as I know they never came onto the patio. When Beanie lived with us, we never saw a coyote near the 3rd green, they always stayed quite a ways from the house. Coyotes can cause a lot of havoc in families of lost pets.
Actually they live in the woods up the street from us, as do plenty of rabbits, chipmunks, mice and even a deer or two. Fortunately they will be building behind us shortly, and the woods will be further away - which is good.
Most of the places that have had pets taken/killed by the coyotes have more woods than we do, however, I know that there is at least one living in our area - saw him/her with my own two eyes. Off and on we also hear them. Eerie.
Good morning!
Last evening, I got the two posts for the chicken run up and plumb and ready to be tied in to the coop this evening. I also discoverd one of our Black Jersey Giant pullets out of the pen and trying to get back in. She wasnt' too accommodating to me helping her, but I was able to catch her. This morning, I let them out of their cage into the pen and before I was at work, Barb told me that two of them were again out of the pen! I need to expedite the coop completion!
On Sunday, my trusty framing nail gun developed a bad leak around the trigger. I ordered a replacement part from a local company and Jack picked it up, yesterday. I replaced the valve and my trusty friend is back on the line...just in time! I just bought a new case of nails and I figured that would result in a catastrophic failure under Murphy's Law.
Isn't it fun watching Weiner and the RATS flopping on the deck?
Good Morning, it’s hot, hot, hot in central Texas. Gotta
water the gardens, again. Tomatoes are beginng to form.
Oh ya!
I soaked everything yesterday. For Northern IL, it’s way too hot, way too early!
Weather dudes say it will be in the 50s tomorrow after a storm moves through tonight. Yay!
It is always fun watching the RATS implode, but the story is entirely too tawdry even for me. I have been known to laugh at inappropriate things, but this is beyond the pale. LionsDaughter just made a comment about this making the congressman unpopular. I answered with, “Barney Frank. Bill Clinton.” The thing is a resume enhancer for the RATS!
I just ticked off hubby - big time. Today is his mother’s birthday. About a month ago, his sister asked if we could have the party here. No problem. I’d be honored to have the family, plus, they NEVER come to my house. In 35 years of marriage, this would be perhaps the third time anyone (except hubby’s mom) has set foot in my door. Yes, we’re invited to their house, but I’m never allowed to pitch in and do anything. If I start, I’m told to quit, that whatever is someone else’s responsibility or plan. So, I’m allowed to sit on the couch and watch TV while the activities swirl around me.
Well, a week ago hubby was told that the party had been moved to his sister’s house on the lake because “it was easier to get Mom there.” Patent lie. Mom comes here about once-a-week. She enjoys being here with us. The problem is me. I’ve never been accepted by the in-laws and I never will.
The thing that made hubby mad is that he called his sister to ask what time the festivities were. She said that his mom would be picked up by his sister soon and that we can come “whenever.” When I heard that, I told him, fine, you go when you’re ready. I’ll go about 12:30 or 1300, stay for an hour or so and then come home. I am not about to waste an entire day in a place where I’m hated. Good thing we have two cars.
I forgot to close my tags.

So we sort of partied last night. Had a great time talking about the old days (except that every other time you asked, what happend to so-and-so, you find out they are dead now).
So the upshot of all of that is I didn't wake up until 7AM CST, and it hurts to blink.
Life is good.

May The Lord be with all of good heart who seek Him and His will . . . with all true patriots who seek the true good of our Republic.
I would like Gene. I’m glad you had a “save-the-world” night. This world needs savin’ and you and Gene might just be able to pull it off.
Drink lots of water for the hangover.
AMEN! AMEN!
THNX! THNX!

LOL! Cats are not our friends.
I understand your frustration. My former In-Laws had contempt for me because I wasn’t Catholic and didn’t speak Spanish. I was just the “big, dumb Gringo”.
reid, pelosi, schummer, fwank and many, many more, will one day have to answer for their sleeze. I’ve read this character has been as bad as nobama, when campaigning. He finds some sleeze or uses a lie about his opponent then slips it anonymously to the public. He’s like a boil on his constituents, which may pop at any time.
Have some chocolate icecream and breathe some O/2 straight from the tank.
Yes, they are like that. I have a friend and she is not accepted, tho she speaks Spanish, is not catholic. A pity, because she is a great cook and can is so arty and creates so many interesting things.
It’s a shame when an in-law is not accepted by the whole family. The snub nosers must think the family member is intellectually a dupe. Poor things.
I’m back. I went. I sat. I made polite conversation. It’s over.

Prayers up for your friend.
Prayers up, Johnny! Please let us know how she is doing.

On tap for us is the visit of a co-worker from Papua. We love her dearly and I'm glad she can stop off here in her travels.
till, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY or is that HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BELATEDLY?
Yup. December 30th is the big date and we will be prepping up until then. This will be a busy rest of the year.
Last night we had a bit of rain. It was so appreciated. I’m hoping we’ll have more. Right now we have a house guest, a dear, dear friend from Papua. Later today we’ll pop over to Columbus with her and she’ll help us shop for a wedding gown. Fun times (for women)!

Or perhaps this:
She'd look like TinkerBell!
Yes, it was, Thank you. Don’t feel one day older.
I’ll be off watching a little girl, about 10, try out for the cheer leading team.
LOL, that was our date too. I told Roomey I was his tax deduction.
Wonderful, a Christmas wedding! I love it!
Great! It is always a good omen (not that I believe in them) when a successful marriage has happened on your chosen day. I agree, a Christmas wedding can look beautiful. One thing which will help - the church will already be decorated and will need only a few more things maybe. We think we have the church nailed down, that will be confirmed on Tuesday.
We had a fun time looking at dresses yesterday. Honestly, my daughter is stunningly beautiful (she gets it from her dad). She can wear a size 4. I hate her, lol! She has forbidden me to post any pictures of her lest her friends would see them. We had it narrowed down to two at the store we went to yesterday. But Tuesday she has an appointment with another bridal shop and we’ll see how things go.
HI! Computer has been dead as a old horse, SIL fixed it for me when they got back from vacation in Fl so I am back in the world once again.
I have been having a terrible time with my left eye too. Have to wear a patch over it and got my ‘shack’ blacked out, the eye patch I am having to wear is drivng me crazy, hard to operate seeing half of everything, so sensative to light.
Just wanted to check in and say hi to you and all.
Toby
How can anyone do something like this and not expect to be outed. he is a nut.
I’m so glad you checked in with us. I was getting mighty worried about you. I’m sorry about your eye. You mentioned earlier that you had been having trouble with it. I was hoping it had been cleared up by now. That must be miserable for you.
I hope you’ve been getting some rain. It has been extremely dry here. I’m hoping the heavens will open later today and rain will come down. We could use a good three-day soaker.
Have a blessed Lord’s day tomorrow.
Weiner has requested a leave-of-absence.
I heard something came up. He said his problems comes in spurts
They turned out beautiful. I did use a crisp, sweet dry white wine when I made the peach filling, and also used real cardamom and nutmeg.
I started at 10AM. I've tasted a sample, but they won't be ready for another hour.
Sometimes, I think that money I spent at culinary school was the best investment I ever made.

I remember to this day when I was in Copenhagen there was a bakery next to the hotel and I bought a Danish fresh out of the oven. Yum!!!
I also talked to a US Based Danish chef who said it was too much work to make the dough and he bought his from some place in Seattle
A fresh Danish is one of those unforgettable foods
