Butylated Hydroxytoluene also known as BHT works well, especially if it is dissolved first in some oil in the right proportion, such as olive oil, cod-liver oil, vegetable oil etc. and will suppress the herpes virus.

Get them every now and then during the winter. Put regular old Chapstick on them right away (reapply often), gone the next day.

Well windex was a reference to “My big fat greek wedding”, but Real Apple Cider Vinegar (not the filtered clear junk), will cure, and keep away a lot of problems. Braggs, for example, is good ACV.

Not lighter fluid, starter fluid. Ether. There is a big difference between the two. Lighter fluid contains naphtha and is irritating to the skin.

We would all like that pustule on humanity to shrivel up and disappear.

It's expensive but is the best solution I have ever found by far...Abreva! (read the reviews at Amazon link)

I havegood luck with Campho-Phenique, or Carmex if that is not available. Must hit it EARLY.

I have had cold sores since I was a child and have used every remedy known to man.

When I first used Abreva, I was stunned at its effectiveness. I kept applying it (rubbed in little dabs) throughout the first day when I noticed a cold sore starting...Abreva stopped it in its tracks by the next morning. I mean the cold sore was DEAD.

I have NEVER found another remedy that works like that. Most remedies seem to reduce the power of the cold sore (a little), but Abreva killed it.
