A pizza guy was confronted by three men for a robbery and pizza guy had a gun. 1 suspect DRT. 2 on the run
He will probably get fired for defending himself.
Criminals make me sick, but you are right about how vulnerable so many people are... and a lot of people working in these jobs are kids working their way through college. We need to toughen up our laws.
It seems you aren’t the only one tired of it... seems stories like this have been on the rise.
This story is pretty fresh and was at an Old Hickory-Edmonson Pike area.
I do like these good-news stories, but most don’t turn out this way.
I am thankful I don’t have to work in a liquor store, drive cabs or deliver pizzas to the wrong side of town.
I like the story about the 11 year old girl who shot and killed TWO illegal aliens who were watching the house when her dad left her at home alone (Montana).
This is outrageous. That’s a pretty bad case of lead poisoning in them there pizzas.
The reason I posted this is because the Delivery Guy had the smarts to have a defense and know how to use it. When that is lacking is when the bad guy wins.
South Nashville is growing in it’s ability for being a very unpredictable and dangerous place.
But he is alive to find that new job.
This is really the first I’ve heard of a A pizza guy pulling a gun and getting results.
Okay. Robbers should stick with pepperoni. Drivers should stick with a “pepperbox” (for those of you who don’t know what a pepperbox it, it’s a type of derringer with up to six chambers.
You didn't stick around long enough to see the thread proven to be a hoax and was pulled by the mods?
Americans are getting fed up. There is no background on anything yet. I’m out on a thick branch on this, but the story was pushed by WSMV and it reminded me to stay safe.
Don’t disrespect The Pizza Guy, yo!
Don’t Taze the Pizza Guy’s Junk, Bro!
Better to be fired than boxed.
"It was a cheerful weapon--the "Allen." Sometimes all its six barrels would go off at once, and then there was no safe place in all the region round about, but behind it." ... Mark Twain
Yup... the pizza delivery companies fear being sued by the criminals.
Personally, I think it would be a great police project to have undercover officers posing as delivery drivers who will work in the worst parts of town.
Every one of these predators put 6 feet under saves society close to a quarter million in legal and incarceration costs. The cost of their crimes on victims and their families is probably at least 3-4 times that amount.
Pizza companies no longer deliver to certain parts of town. If you want to order a pizza, you have to go pick it up yourself.

Those criminals that get killed by people deserve a Darwin Award.
I think what’s changed is the Castle Doctrine laws. You no longer have a duty to retreat and any place you have a lawful right to be, its tough luck for someone trying to rob or kill you. That makes America safer.
That was a serious aspect I thought of. Here is a manager laid off from Obamanomics now defending his life delivering pizza to pay the mortgage. I don’t know who it was but the possibility is very real.
Yes, they should all understand we are armed. Attack at your peril.
I don’t know why they don’t apply to Obama to help them pay for everything. When it comes to crime, some people are permanently stuck on stupid.
Police said the driver had a valid gun carry permit, and the shooting was in self-defense
I guess I didn’t. Bummer that it’s not true.
Idiots on Crack is what it boils down to. Get 20 bucks from delivery guy, go score a rock. Well, one of them scored real rock.
Hey, be careful who you’re inciting.... Those of us still left in the PRNJ, aka THE Nanny State, can’t carry and can get slammed with a felony if we as much as stop for a cup of coffee and a donut on the way from home to the range.
I think that would be great too. Besides pizza delivery people, there could be some cute chicks walking down the streets, in those places where abductions or rapes are common. And in either case have some nice gentlemen on the roofs with scoped .300 Win Mags (and tactical headsets) keeping an eye on the situation, in addition to the undercover cops themselves also carrying, of course. Clean up the criminals, rather than cleaning up the mess after the criminals have done their deeds.
Well, you guys do have a small light at the end of that tunnel. You do have some highly indoctrinated generations as well. If it gets to be to much, work hard, make money, and help us out. :^)
I used to deliver pizzas in that exact area. I wouldn’t do so now if you paid me $100K.
The laws are beginning to match common sense and normal human responses. I mean, what kind of moron ever thought he had a "duty to retreat"?
The entire area from Edmonson to Percy Priest is gangland. I hear ya, no thanks.
One of the thugs is dead. Serves that thug right.
Good on the pizza delivery guy.
God bless him!
I used to live right around there. Is Marathon Sport Bar still in Nipper’s Corner?
The story downthread says it was in Brentwood...?
That I wouldn’t know. I played tournaments along Antioch Pike until it turned south.
Yes, it is a line as you know that runs the difference between Nolensville Rd and Edmonson PK. It is quite blurry by the day.
Did I see Vince Young mentioned in this anywhere?
A recent similar incident happened here in Oregon, although the details are not released yet, because the 2nd perp is still running around....but, it was a Dutch Brothers Coffee Shop...where co policy said NO gUNS....but the employee must have had a legal carry permit..grand jury said he was NOT at fault ( he killed the perp who was threatening his life with a gun)....Company Pres was on radio today saying very basically that they are “reviewing their policies”. One less criminal in Oregon!
Nah...He was abducted by aliens a couple of weeks ago.
Let’s hope that Oregon has the sense to let folks defend themselves. (I have a large heritage from there BTW). :^)

Nothing scary. It’s isolated.
The tide MAY be changing...although Portland’s mayor and council are in the process of penalizing lawful gun owners from what I understand. They (Portland) will be the last bastion...
“One less criminal in Oregon!”
The perp or the CEO? Companies who threaten to fire personnel in dangerous positions who protect themselves or the premises fall in a nearly criminal category. There was a thread on here earlier about a man in FL who was fired for chasing a robber ... because he ‘left [his] work station without authorization.’
