Down the the Yankees, oh yeah!
Don’t forget: Dallas also hosted the NBA All-Star game this year as well. Anyone planning on making the trip, enjoy the game. The Ballpark in Arlington is a gem!
I must admit I watched the final out with a great deal of satisfaction. Not only did the Rangers punch their ticket to the World Series, they did it by beating the Yankees. Oh, so SWEET!
Here’s to the Rangers’ winning the 2010 World Series!

My 56” DLP’s feeling small, heh. Need to get a 3d LCD in the next few years.
Dallas fans must be going crazy. Here’s another championship game the Cowboys can watch on TV.
And best of all, A-Fraud struck out for the final out. JUSTICE!
That’s the other great thing, it makes those sad sack Cowboys now an afterthought here.
For years the Rangers have played second fiddle to the Cowboys, but now with this new ownership, the Rangers will close that gap, they are going to be contenders for years.
Yup... no more Yankees on my TV screen 'til next year! ;-)
They have every right to celebrate....good on ‘em.
Let’s hope it’s a premonition of the November blue state vs. red state battles.
YAY!!! The Yankees are looking old and burnt out next to those energetic Rangers!!
Now I hope the Rangers face those bums the Phillies and blast them into oblivion in the WS!!!
I'm hoping the WS matchup is the Rangers vs. the Gnats [sic]. A TEXAS team taking it to one from the most liberal area in the country would be sweet.
Scorched Yanqui Pot Roast - Sweeeeeeeet!
Either philly or NYC is the ultra liberal. Bush’s team beat one NYC, hope they can do the next ultra lib.
“World Series party at my house..”
Date, time, address?
Yeah, we got a good laugh out of that as well. I've heard that chant in a lot of ball parks this year (both in person and on TV)... not just at Fenway. ;-)
I can remember back in 1961 when any of us kids got a Washington Senator baseball card we would be severly disapointed.
Woo Hoo!!!! Love the Rangers!!!!!
Congrats! anyone but the Yankees.
Yup, they really do. Mariano, Hip Hip Jorge Posada, Jeter... they're getting up there in age.
Go Rangers! What a classy team...
I’m not impressed with Philly’s offense, they’ve got great pitching, though.
I remember as a kids we would hang out at the old Arlington Stadium until the 7th inning when they would let us in for free.
As a fellow Dallasite, whose been firmly on the bandwagon, since day 1 of this year, BAM YANKEES, take that.
Here in DFW, you could hear the scream all the way from NY every time TBS showed President Bush on tv.
This series is going to be a precursor to the upcoming elections: total domination by the conservative, hardworking state over the elitest bums from the northeast.
Yup, I told my wife when that last out was made, “Mark Holtz is looking down from heaven and is shouting: “HE STRUCK HIM OUT - HELLO WIN COLUMN - HELLO WORLD SERIES””
Saw him in person once right before a home game. What a play by play genius. Sure do miss him.
Congratulations Rangers. Way to Go!!!
Thank you Nolan Ryan for finally getting the pitching we needed.
My husband and I have a bit of a soft spot for David Murphy, who came up through the Red Sox farm system. Over the years we cheered for him as a Portland (Maine) Sea Dog (AA), a Pawtucket (RI) Red Sox (AAA) player, and finally as a member of the Boston Red Sox. We spoke to him at batting practice at Fenway a few months ago when the Rangers were in town (he signed a ball for us). NICE guy, and we're so happy for him!
If you are in East Texas and willing to supply beer and help clean up, FReepmail me.
At the old stadium? I remember actual bleachers back then, that’s where we usually ended up since it was nearly free.
The new stadium is pretty great. I wish I had pics of the old one though, it had a weird charm to it. I remember almost every night at games in the 80’s there were drunken fights in the bleachers.
And when Josh Hamilton accepted the ALCS MVP, he gave thanks to God and Jesus Christ, FIRST!!! Then, he redirected the credit to the rest of his team. As I listened, the one word that echoed through my mind was: REDEMPTION!!!
Josh Hamilton nearly destroyed his life with alcohol, but he was redeemed through His love and grace and given a second chance at this life. Josh has done good. He loves this team and they love him. How much? So much so the team celebrated their first playoff series win with non-alcoholic beverages, just so Josh could be a part of the celebration.
Sorry to ramble on.
Mark and Eric were the best play by play team ever!
Great memories.

Great post, and congratulations to the Texas Rangers! We're in CT, but have the MLB package and it warms my heart every time I see the fans in Arlington cheer for Dubya and Laura Bush when they attend Rangers games throughout the season. You'd never see that here 'up north'.
I also loved the huge cheer that rose up from the Rangers fans tonight when Josh Hamilton said: "All glory and honor goes to God... Lord Jesus Christ!" Wow. Makes me want to pack up and move to Texas right now... ;-)
Hope he stays good. He’s a great player. One of the best in the game.
Oh so fitting to see A-FRAUD go down swinging as the last out...
AND LOOKING TOO...HAHAHAHAHA!!!
BUH BYE SKANKEES!!
Extremely exciting set of games! Tonight was SWEEEEET!

“Im thinking that a certain former Rangers owner - and also former President - should start practicing a first pitch...
And remember, Mr. President, in Texas we throw from the mound!”
What a thought. Wouldn’t it be great to see him smoke in another pitch from the mound just like he did right after 911.
Anyone here brave enough to venture over to DU or Kos? Those sites have such poor HTML coding and so much needless eye-candy junk that I avoid them due to the S-L-O-W page rendering. And I haven't even mentioned the disgusting content.
I know that anything even remotely related to Texas (or the South in general) is Kryptonite to those folks. Their poor lil' liberal heads must be exploding tonight. I wish them well. NOT!
It should be a very interesting Series.
Do NOT miss the graphic in #44! (Thanks, GQuagmire) LOL
“I wish I had pics of the old one though, it had a weird charm to it. I remember almost every night at games in the 80s there were drunken fights in the bleachers”
I saw many a game at the old field. I grew up in North Arlington.
I used to pay $7 dollars to sit in the outfield bleachers. It was real cheap.
It was so cheap everyone had lots of money left to get
really drunk. But lots of fun.
Remember the old stadium with the metal floors and how much noise we made at “Bat Night” with our Buddy Bell Bats?
I try to go once a season, to the all you can eat section that’s about $35 now. I load up on the food..
But, the hotdogs are not as good as you get when you pay.

Boy I certainly saw no evidence last Friday.
Never heard MF screamed at a ballplayer before.
The chants of A-roid etc. Yankees suck and the like may fit well some crowds, but disappointing and offputting to me.
Never felt embarrassed about fellow fans in 35 years of attending games.
Must have been Cowboy fans...
Yep, Buddy Bell was a hero of mine at the time. And the stomping noise was amazing, I’d forgotten about that. Thanks for reminding me.
I just briefly went over to both (Grrr... now I need a shower!). Those sites have so much crap on 'em, I really couldn't figure out how to navigate my way around. Anyone else want to try?
Yep. Now I’m a Collin County boy and I only go to one a year too.
What was the deal with the talking head dressed in purple? He looked like a goofy pimp.
Anywhere near Sulphur Springs? I used to go there every week for nearly two years while on a project at Star Specialty.
Maybe it was back when they didn’t win much that they were quiet. I guess when they hit the playoffs, the crowd gets loud.
