Down the the Yankees, oh yeah!
Not far at all, just SE of you about 30 minutes.
I predict they’ll get Charley Pride to sing the National Anthem for Game 3. He may even throw out a first pitch as well, he’s been a big Ranger fan for years, and he’s also a part owner.
Mark Davis, an area talk show host (rather RINOish but occasionally insightful) had a good line a few days back:
All the Cowboys have to is declare bankruptcy and get Wade Phillips to start doing blow...and they'll be successful too.
We’re so damn confused here in Arlington, we’ve never done this before so we tried to act like other cities do and decided to riot and loot. My whole neighborhood just charged into the Wal-Mart and we all bought Big Screen TV’s......I’m not sure we did it right.
That's one of the things about the Rangers now.. they are owned by a bunch of fans and former players, not just investors. Can you get much more Texas than a baseball team owned by Nolan Ryan, Charlie Pride, Ron Washington, Chuck Greenberg & Eddie Chiles?
LOL... funniest line I’ve seen tonight.
Oh, how sweet was that to see A-Fraud be the last out?! Woo Hoo!
What was the deal with the talking head dressed in purple? He looked like a goofy pimp.
Oh that's Craig Sager, TBS and TNT sportscaster. We've seen him over the years on TBS during the baseball post-seasons. He's well-known for his wacky pimp-like outfits! Have you seen his yellow and orange suits? The guy's a piece of work... LOL.
I loved how one of the Rangers targeted him in the club house after the win and doused him with champagne. Then Sager came back for another interview (with pitcher Cliff Lee) and the player (I don't know who it was) shouted: "I'm still here, Sager!" ...and doused him again! He was completely wet and disheveled while interviewing Lee. LOL

It was called Turnpike Stadium...
I can't stand these morons - not one of them can tell you the Yankee lineup, let alone anything about the team.
I've met any number of dingbat New York girls in Boston for college cheering on the Yankees who can't name one player other than ‘ Like....um...Derek Jeter ‘.
Rot in hell Yankees.
..and consider that totally stolen.. you’ve created a meme.
Texas Rangers 2010 American League Champions.
Snow Monkeys Victorious.
Texas Rangers win AL Pennant.
Film at 11.
Let’s not be rash. One of my favorite FReepers is a Yankees girl deep in the heart of Texas. Let’s show her some love. ;->
‘I thought the Yanks were playing Loser Ball when they issued two intentional walks in the 7th, and it backfired on them anyway.’
Never would have happened if Steinbrenner was still alive.
You must be a P1.

One can hope. ;^)
ABT Yankees!
GO RANGERS!
I have nothing but respect for the Yankee organization. It’s great to beat the best. Steinbrenner was a good man (and a big UF Booster),
I’m a Yankee fan for life but these last two months, we’ve sucked! Meanwhile, I hope GWB throws out the first pitch like a real man should I’m thrilled for the Rangers and hopefully they win it all!
Heh. Wonder how many of us here on FR get that?
I switched right over to "Diamond Talk" right at the end of the game. I liked Norm's segment since he had such a long run with the Rangers on HSE back in the day.
Will Bush get to throw the first pitch at World Series game to a cheering crowd here in Texas?
That’s the question.
Playing the "what if" game is interesting. I just wonder i Joe Torre (albeit at age 70) would've managed the 5th inning.
The crowd will cheer for him that’s for sure! Meanwhile, he’ll be wearing real man jeans, boots and throw a strike across the plate from the mound!
As a public service, I donned the HazMat suit and made a visit to KosKiddie land. Waiting for it to load (tick...tick...tick..) was an ordeal in itself.
In the headline about the Ranger win, the diarist remarked:
"Something is not quite Kosher about cheering for the Rangers with the likes of Chuck Norris and George W. Bush."
They just can't let it go, can they?
Did you know that Fat Joe left Atlantic?
What’s the interest in Dallas about the Rangers, especially with the Cowboys tanking? I was just wondering if the Rangers have perked the local interest. I know the Cowboys are huge, is this enough to get people in the Metroplex off the ledges?
ROTFL! ;-D
Stay hard.
I hope I don't get zotted for that by the mods. It ain't pr0n -- it's from America's favorite radio station. :-)
What's the deal with wearing Yankees gear in Boston?? Oh yeah, it's so much easier to root for a "winning" team than the Red Sox. This year anyway...
I can't stand these morons - not one of them can tell you the Yankee lineup, let alone anything about the team.
I've met any number of dingbat New York girls in Boston for college cheering on the Yankees who can't name one player other than Like....um...Derek Jeter .
I know many of those as well. Rooting for the Yankees - for some people - (I realize there are real Yankee fans) is the hip thing to do... like belonging to a special club. Yet these "fans" don't know any players in the line up beyond Jeter and A-Fraud, and don't know a damn thing about baseball to boot. Ugh!
Oh yeah....nice. Real nice.
LOL... Hillary the Yankee fan! I almost forgot about that pic.
LOL!
A young Sager in ‘74 at Hank’s Plate celebration. 715th....Remember? My God.....so long ago huh?...
CONGRATS TEXAS RANGERS!!! They kicked the Yankees into submission that’s for sure!
Was W there tonight too? I caught a clip of Nolan after the final out was made and I thought I saw W shaking hands with people to Nolan’s right....BTW, that pitch Nolan threw in game 1 was awesome, straight as an arrow and with heat!! W should throw first pitch before game 3, it’s gotta happen. Especially when it will be 3 days before the election!
For those of you who haven’t seen a WS in person, enjoy the ride. It’s not just another game that’s for sure! I went to 2 WS games in Cleveland in ‘95 and ‘97 and it’s one of those things to do to fulfill your bucket list!
Great night. The YANKEES LOSE and by buddy’s spn’s footballers upset an undefeated team, a win they needed to put them in line to grab a playoff spot, after starting the season 1-3!
"Something is not quite Kosher about cheering for the Rangers with the likes of Chuck Norris and George W. Bush."
They just can't let it go, can they?
Oh geesh... Well, their little KosKiddie heads are gonna explode if GWB throws out the first pitch from the mound for the Rangers (wearing Real Man jeans and boots, as a FReeper noted)... right before Election Day. :o)
Maybe Chuck and catch W’s first pitch!
Sager was there? No, I don't remember that... how did Sager look back then? ;-)
Or if Casey or Ralph was still alive. Know them LCS??.....My God what has happened to the Bombers? Okay, Old guy Yankee fan bitch here over and out. Now, Texas won fair and square, no complaints here, they beat the yank’s cans for sure!
From the Ticket, there are so many fine Fake Jerry/Fake Wade moments that it's hard to select one for posting here. I just arbitrarily picked this -- since it led to gales of laughter when I heard it live: Texas Stadium Demolition.
The one after the playoff loss to the Vikings was another classic. Just hit Youtube and check out all of the Fake Jerry bits.
Firsy time I was at the Stadium, the players included Berra, Mantle, Skouren, Whitey Ford, etc., with Stengal in the dugout.
Well that’s a given. My English, not so much! Let’s try that again.....
Maybe Chuck CAN catch W’s first pitch....
HEY HEY HEY!!! Yah! Go TEX-ASS!!!!
Hopefully this will cut back on all the friggin Yankee hats.
As an aside, this just earned Cliff Lee an extra $10-20 million from the best team that money can buy.
Same here but I will not fang ya for you misspelling of the ‘Old Professer’ Casey and and the Moose!!! and....Okay LCS.....Go to youtube....Type in Mickey Mantle...and go from there! Great links!!
YEE HAW!! From a long suffering Rangers fan!! Sooooo happy!
FEAR THE DEER!!!!!!!
GO POKES!!
YEAH BABY! Go Rangers!!!!!!!!!
We used to live in Arlington and went to sooo many games there at the beautiful new ball park. Boy, never thought we’d see this day! Our household is STOKED!
Great to see the Bush team beat the Clinton/Schumer team. Even better would be beating the SF Pelousy gang! In Texas, after GW throws a perfect strike to open the game, then sits behind home plate with Laura.
