Will Bush get to throw the first pitch at World Series game to a cheering crowd here in Texas?

That’s the question.

Never would have happened if Steinbrenner was still alive.

Playing the "what if" game is interesting. I just wonder i Joe Torre (albeit at age 70) would've managed the 5th inning.

The crowd will cheer for him that’s for sure! Meanwhile, he’ll be wearing real man jeans, boots and throw a strike across the plate from the mound!

I just briefly went over to both [DU and Kos] (Grrr... now I need a shower!). Those sites have so much crap on 'em, I really couldn't figure out how to navigate my way around. Anyone else want to try?

As a public service, I donned the HazMat suit and made a visit to KosKiddie land. Waiting for it to load (tick...tick...tick..) was an ordeal in itself.

In the headline about the Ranger win, the diarist remarked:

"Something is not quite Kosher about cheering for the Rangers with the likes of Chuck Norris and George W. Bush."

They just can't let it go, can they?

What’s the interest in Dallas about the Rangers, especially with the Cowboys tanking? I was just wondering if the Rangers have perked the local interest. I know the Cowboys are huge, is this enough to get people in the Metroplex off the ledges?

We’re so damn confused here in Arlington, we’ve never done this before so we tried to act like other cities do and decided to riot and loot. My whole neighborhood just charged into the Wal-Mart and we all bought Big Screen TV’s......I’m not sure we did it right.

ROTFL! ;-D

Fat Joe left Atlantic

Stay hard.

I hope I don't get zotted for that by the mods. It ain't pr0n -- it's from America's favorite radio station. :-)

Oh, this is just too sweet! I've seen far too many dips-t kids walking around my neighborhood with sideways Yankkee hats on.

What's the deal with wearing Yankees gear in Boston?? Oh yeah, it's so much easier to root for a "winning" team than the Red Sox. This year anyway...

I can't stand these morons - not one of them can tell you the Yankee lineup, let alone anything about the team.

I've met any number of dingbat New York girls in Boston for college cheering on the Yankees who can't name one player other than ‘ Like....um...Derek Jeter ‘.

I know many of those as well. Rooting for the Yankees - for some people - (I realize there are real Yankee fans) is the hip thing to do... like belonging to a special club. Yet these "fans" don't know any players in the line up beyond Jeter and A-Fraud, and don't know a damn thing about baseball to boot. Ugh!

I thought for sure you would say Sager's painful outfits were a careful distraction from his bad rug. I guess everyone needs a gimmick.

LOL!

CONGRATS TEXAS RANGERS!!! They kicked the Yankees into submission that’s for sure!
Was W there tonight too? I caught a clip of Nolan after the final out was made and I thought I saw W shaking hands with people to Nolan’s right....BTW, that pitch Nolan threw in game 1 was awesome, straight as an arrow and with heat!! W should throw first pitch before game 3, it’s gotta happen. Especially when it will be 3 days before the election!
For those of you who haven’t seen a WS in person, enjoy the ride. It’s not just another game that’s for sure! I went to 2 WS games in Cleveland in ‘95 and ‘97 and it’s one of those things to do to fulfill your bucket list!

Great night. The YANKEES LOSE and by buddy’s spn’s footballers upset an undefeated team, a win they needed to put them in line to grab a playoff spot, after starting the season 1-3!

Oh geesh... Well, their little KosKiddie heads are gonna explode if GWB throws out the first pitch from the mound for the Rangers (wearing Real Man jeans and boots, as a FReeper noted)... right before Election Day. :o)

From the Ticket, there are so many fine Fake Jerry/Fake Wade moments that it's hard to select one for posting here. I just arbitrarily picked this -- since it led to gales of laughter when I heard it live: Texas Stadium Demolition.

The one after the playoff loss to the Vikings was another classic. Just hit Youtube and check out all of the Fake Jerry bits.
