Tiger, listen: if you piss them off, they’ll come back with a SWAT van a maybe some incendiary devices. Remember, Janet Reno lives not too far away.

So. By your reaction you must not support the Bill of Rights and a persons right not to incriminate themselves.

He has NOTHING to gain by talking and everything to lose.

Wow. Tiger. The cover up is always worse than the ‘crime’.

I would hope he’s not trying to hide drug testing, etc.

But, the PGA has some of the highest drug ‘standards’.

Wow.

Everyone. If they don’t have a warrant for your arrest, they cannot make you talk.

Even if they do, all you have to do is plead not guilty and remain silent.

From what another freeper said, since this is a traffic violation, Tiger nor his wife are obliged at all to speak to the police. No warrant, no other violation, no reason to talk to them.

Why are the police even involved with this? He wasn't drunk, and I would assume that he has insurance (or assets) that can pay for the damage to the fire hydrant and utility pole that he hit.

Outside of that, are the cops trying to cash in on what is essentially a private matter?

'And the charge is................'

Obstruction of justice comes to mind. Might have been a little different if he'd just pinballed around his own yard, but he was on a public thoroughfare then crashed into someone else's private property.

Well, hows about refusing a breathalyzer and/or drug test, if that occurred, and that gets you nicked in FL?

Destruction of public property, namely the fire hydrant?

Why tick off the cops? Surely it's better to take your ticket like a man than to flip the bird at the fuzz.

So Tiger and his wife are having breakfast.

Wife- “What’s this in the Enquirer?”

Tiger- “Er, um, those jeans sure do make you look FAT!”

Not a good way to start the day.

Sometime in the afternoon Tiger was sitting on the couch, in the living room.
His wife sits down next to him and asks “What on the TV?”

“Dust” he replied.

and the wife fuming from the earlier insensitive comment storms off in a huff saying something about “Tiger sleeping outside until he becomes a little more domesticated”.

Tiger puts a hand to forehead saying to himself “Geesh!”

They didn’t speak to each other for the rest of the night. Tiger fell asleep on the couch, in the media room and at 2 in the morning, heard the screech of a banchee and something about a “...G&)*&damn toilet down or up...!” realizing he committed a capital offense by leaving the toilet seat up, he rubs his eyes and fumbles looking for his car keys.

Making a hasty retreat to the garage his wife cuts him off. She is breathing heavy, with her hair everywhere and stuff coming out of her eyes. Additionally, she is nervously gripping a 3 Wood and suddenly screams “What’s with the car keys Mr. Can’t do anything wrong? Hmmm? Going to see your harlot? Well, thanks for pointing out My Fat ass, which just took a dunk in gold plated toilet”.

Tiger laughed a little, nervously and because the whole thing was just funny and that is when she lost it.

That is all took and she screamed “You a Tiger? Humph!! I am the Lion and Queen of this jungle. I am in the mood to go hunting, game on!”.

Then she started swinging.

A bit a long story but that may be what happened.

I am not a lawyer, but I was not aware that you could tell the cops that I do not want to talk with you, especially since he broke the law. I am fairly certain that driving into a fire hydrant is illegal. If I tried that, I would find myself in jail waiting for bail. It must be nice to be a celebrity and know that the laws do not apply to you as they do to us little people.

"Is it time for a warrant?"

Yes. They'll need a warrant if they want to drag him out of his own home. But, if they should spy Tiger outside his home, they won't need a warrant to drag him to the station for questioning as probable cause of a crime is easily met with the destroyed vehicle and property damage.

As the story says, they want to get a look at his face. And, if there's no evidence of blood in the car, as has been reported, it would lead them to believe that the injuries were suffered outside the vehicle.

Apparently he just issued a statement that he was at fault ... and embarrassed.

I know that when you knock over a telephone pole or fire hydrant, you have to pay for it. The bigger issue here I think is whether they decide to charge his wife with spousal abuse.

How do you know he wasn't drunk? He had a traffic accident that involved damage to public property. The police have every right to question the suspect. Their problem now is they should have done a Breathalyzer or taken blood samples at the hospital to determine if the suspect was impaired. I can assure you if this was me or you we would have been treated a lot differently!

FOX News just played the 911 tape. Allegedly Tiger said his wife acted bravely by breaking the window and dragging him out of the car. I don’t buy it. Adn they cancelled the appt. with Highway Patrol. Why not get it over with if you have nothing to hide? This only keeps the story going. If there is any truth to the adultery charge, who can blame the wife for many reasons such as him giving her STD.

I’m amazed at the level of interest in this non-story. The man had a car accident and may have marital problems... neither of which is a crime and not really anyone’s business.

it also sounds like the incident occurred on private property and he has already told the cops he is represented by counsel

So why would he speak with the cops?

I have a hard and fast rule . NEVER EVER speak with the cops

Nothing ever gets better when the cops arrive and they are not there to protect or serve so why would he speak with the cops?

.

The whole story about his wife having to “extract” him from the Escalade makes no sense. Ih he was in the driver’s seat, why would she be breaking out the back window where she’d have to climb over a row or two of seats merely to reach him and then pull him out? Anyone in that situation would either break the windshield and pull him out through the front or break the driver’s windown and open the door.

The hole going through the back really doens’t fit.

Only a billionaire sports idol can blow off the cops like this.

At the very least, they need to get details to write up the accident report so the neighbors can file a claim with their ins. co. for the tree.

Wild guess here..... I’m guessing it’s his wife who’s being protected

don’t know what charge(s) can be brought against Tiger based upon facts reported if he wasn’t driving impaired, but if his wife really did beat on his face.....??

anyway, neither has to meet with FHP in their own home unless there’s a warrant..... but none of this can be too good for his squeaky clean image with sponsors etc..... although I’m sure that he’s trying to wait it out long enough that it can seem like old news by the time he emerges in public and then he will continue to refuse comment.

The caller, a male, can be heard telling dispatchers, “I need an ambulance immediately, I have someone down outside my house ... It’s a car accident ... My neighbor, he hit the tree. I see him and he’s laying down.”

When the dispatcher asked if the person was unconscious, the neighbor responded, “Yes.”
