Washington (CNN) -- Two people without invitations crashed President Obama's first White House state dinner, the U.S. Secret Service said Wednesday.
The Secret Service confirmed a Washington Post report that the couple who crashed Tuesday night's dinner were Tareq and Michaele Salahi. The Post described the couple as polo-playing socialites from northern Virginia.
A Secret Service checkpoint "did not follow proper procedures" to determine if the two were on the guest list for the dinner, said Edwin M. Donovan, a Secret Service special agent, in a statement.

Typically, you have an invitation in your hands...the Secret Service guy reviews it against his end-all list...and you proceed. The only scenario I can see is that they entered as part of the dinner staff and switched clothing....but even then...the Secret Service should have done a full review.
So this makes you wonder....WHO else entered in such a fashion? Any KGB agents? Any Cubans? Any Chinese spys? Anybody from Ossama’s team?

Sounds like they are actually part of the mover and shaker crowd so they were known to other people. She even had her picture taken with Biden and the Mayor of D.C.
