Good evening.
This weekend, the Senate voted to go ahead on debate of the Reid Health Care Scam, Rs and Dems split completely along party lines.
There's still life in the patient, but not much, for no matter how much the Senate alters the bill, it'll still be horrific and I'm not optimistic that it can be stopped.
Still, life goes on & there is much sweetness and delight in our everyday activities and loves.

NONE!!! LOL..maybe this weekend. We'll see how I am feeling. My sister is trying to talk me into taking the kitten that she brought back to VA that Carlos found in his driveway a few months ago. She took him home, named him Buster Kahn. Mom has been enjoying him while she has been down there, Here is a picture of Buster

Going to my bro's tomorrow for dinner. Hoping everyone here has a great Thanksgiving.

Yes! I did read that article when it came out. The thing I love about it is that his software was used in ways never intended for it nor called for by the underlying 'theory', and then he was hired to go back and make it easier to misuse the software even more.
The ironic thing is (and I wish I could find the article) that this kind of thing is not new. It was outlawed in the 30's but the restriction was lifted in the 90's for non-commercial banks only.
And I still want to know why AIG, and insurance company, can sell Credit Default Swaps, essentially an insurance product, without the prior review and approval of NY state insurance regulators...;-))

Just heard Obama say........”We have either created or saved more turkeys.”

Hey, I had a thought yesterday (yes! I actually have them sometimes!).
In what is indisputably an otherwise sucky year, we are now experiencing in this 4th quarter a steady stream of encouraging good news for which to give Thanks. To wit:
1. Global Warming and Algore have taken a major broadside below the waterline with the revelation that the global warming crowd not only faked their data but embarked on a campaign to actively suppress debate and criminally resist FOIA requests in several countries (with plans to destroy data rather than release it to researchers).
2. Nobama's making a fool of hinself on a global scale and even his admirers are noticing, to the point that his approval numbers are tanking big-time (-15 and dropping).
3. NJ and VA have elected GOP governors, and, lo and behold, NJ polling shows that the populace is in favor of -- gasp -- freezing state employee wages and benefits and -- OMG -- even laying off an appropriate amount to balance budgets!!!
4. Sarah Palin (who, realistically, still needs a lot of work on getting her message down and her presentation right but nevertheless has huge potential) sold 700,000 books on the first day of release -- already trouncing Hitlery and a lot of others.
5. ACORN!!! After years of looking the other way at ACORN's criminality, authorities are now seeing RICO-like behavior with the 'document dumpster dumps' at not one but several offices, exposing the true extent of their duplicity in undermining the electoral process.
6. Van Jones and Anita Dunn have been unceremoniously booted because of their open Communist and Marxist views, with more to come.
7. David Letterman, the devoted husband who made it fashionable to go after the Palin family, has been shown publicly to be the cad and worm that he really is, and it would be fitting if he were prosecuted serially for workplace sexual harrassment of subordinates.
Yes, a lot of bad came along with the good, but there is every reason to expect more good news on a regular basis. Not a bad way to usher in this Thanksgiving 2009...;-))
To: Bitwhacker
You have lots of thoughts, and that's why when I read something interesting, you come to mind!
The thing about the Manhattan project article which is so appealing is that the author both stood within his career experience, and outside it - it seems all along - observant and critical. That's not all that common.....plus the oyster business...business...:-))
