Stat? That was no stat, that was a
VOTE.
Perhaps you ought to remind yourself we were discussing Joe Paterno's STATS against the oh so powerful SEC.
That would be 5 and 2.......not quite as good as 11 and 2, but hey, at least they weren't voted on........

Perhaps you ought to remind yourself we were discussing Joe Paterno's STATS against the oh so powerful SEC.Actually, you might want to remind YOURSELF that this began with your posting an article about Paterno in which the author couldn't resist a few small digs at Bear Bryant. I take nothing away from Paterno but since you brought it up, here are some facts that indicate longevity does not necessarily equal superiority:
Paterno: .750 winning percentage. Bryant: .800 winning percentage (.780 at Alabama). Paterno: 5 losing seasons. Bryant: 1 losing season (his first at Texas A&M). Paterno: 2 National Championships. Bryant: 6 National Championships. Paterno: 3 Conference Titles. Bryant: 13 Conference Titles with 25 straight winning seasons at Alabama.
I guess that even back then all those polls were just wrong ...

a few small digs at Bear BryantWow, the article suggested while Joepa was goody two shoes, the Bear lived hard.......oooooh, how awful, awful. Just horrible, inconceivable, and dastardly yellow journalism to mention such prurient details.......*gasp*....he smoked Chesterfields, drank bourbon, and griped about the new rules at the end. Oh noes, oh noes......
Sometimes I wonder if it's possible to enjoy life at a continuous altitude of 10' above sea level, surrounded by skeery bluehaired drivers headed to their bingo games and early bird specials.
And to be so thin skinned as well..........
Tsk, tsk.
11-2; 5-2 Stats to remember.........

Besides, an article in "big" blue's "Maize and Brew" hardly constitutes unbiased evidence of anything other than shameless self-promotion of Michican't and the "big" 10.
Now go play with your "Maize and Blue" pom-poms. Maybe it will take your mind off of yet another mediocre season.

I just realized why you put forth the Joe Pa worship article. Penn State gets the pleasure of slapping around the maize heads this weekend and you wanted to lay the foundation for an excuse.
After Michigan (aka the Ann Arbor Day Care Center and School of Ballet) gets spanked yet again, you'll pretend that being beaten by Joe Pa is an honor that relects great glory upon the lucky Michigan losers.
Shameless, Sharky. Simply shameless. :>)

Great moral victory, Sharky. Although the Penn State Flying and Legendary Paternos cheated by wearing their scary, ghostly white uniforms that terrified your boys dressed in their outdated but sorta pansy looking school bus yellow, in honor of its "big" 10 affiliation your Michigan Fumbling Maizes managed to score "10" big points
(while giving up 35).By the way, "Forcier" may be a French word with dual meanings: "makes poor decisions" and "forgets to catch the snap when standing in the end zone".
Good grief.

"New kitties? Thats good. Names and pics?" I could've sworn I posted pictures. I even remember doing the post. I'm guessing I must have gotten distracted before actually hitting "post." That was several days ago.
The kitties' names are Tigger and Kismet. Tigger showed up at Ron's when I was holding up there during the ice storm last winter. He was starving and injured and wouldn't let anyone near him, except he would come to eat. He was so defensive, we just assumed he was feral. I was actually surprised he survived. After the ice was gone and he was less hungry, he wanted in the house and he wanted to be petted, even though he was still very cautious. Then we figured that he had belonged to someone and had either been abandoned or lost. Ron's cats are declawed and he didn't want another cat in the house, so I told him I'd take him as long as he could be taught proper indoor manners. It took till June to get it all worked out, but I took him, got him neutered and brought him home. I figured if I was going to get another one, this would be the time to do it. I got on Petfinder and ended up adopting Kismet from the Siloam Springs shelter. He was a rescue kitty and was about 3 months old. These 2 are practically attached at the hip.
Tigger is the orange one and Kismet is the white one.

Sounds alot like Bobby White the manx outside my place.
We first saw her as she was eating stale saltines outside in the snow.
(That’s one hungry cat..)
She’s filled out now, but doesn’t get along well with other cats.

Tigger has adapted well. He has gone from starving, freezing and hurt to being fat, spoiled and demanding. He’s been good in the house though.

AWWWWWW!!! Such darlings and you are such a good person to take them in. We still have our 8 rescues.... oldest is 19. Plus 2-3 strays that we feed outside..... (we think strays, one looks like Tigger and might actually have a home but prefers our food). :0))
To: sweetliberty
Aaaaw. How cute they are. Cute and looking very secure and confident that they have finally found a home.
One of my sisters, the one with the biggest menagerie, said a scruffy, homeless kitty alternated between her backdoor and her neigbor's at mealtimes. Both fed the little guy because he seemed so hungry and scared. One day he showed up wounded and limping. She took him to the vet, got him stitched up, tested for disease and vacinated then took him home and fed him. The next day he showed up, this time at the front door and immediately walked inside as soon as she opened the door. She said it seemed to her that he'd decided her house was where he was meant to be, that he knew he had at last found his home.

Great cartoons, Darlin'.
The fall colors are just beautiful this year. I've been trying to stop and take pictures whenever I can, but between frequent rain and bouts with the headache from hell, I've been somewhat limited. I have gotten a few here and there though.

Right, and telling them they're just greedy or ungrateful even though they planned ahead, got costumes and behaved politely.
Sorta invokes an image of that slimey huckster scamming those kids in the insurance (?) company commercials. The ones with the pony, the bike and the toy truck, i.e., Thats a piece of junk, "You can't ride ...", "You didn't say a real pony".
