Happy Easter!
Teh Kittehs went out hunting bunneh and came back with mousie.
They did good!! Guess they decided what was on the Easter menu...mousie!!
And there’s a rather mangled looking squirrel in the back yard that they decided not to drag in.
That is a blessing right there.
Now, that statement right there is downright funny! And one I agree with completely!
Heh. Some critter took a few nibbles out of my horseradish.
Yum, Spicy! I hope it didn’t eat enough to hurt the plant.
Just the tops of the leaves. I sprayed it with Critter Ridder this afternoon.
That’ll learn ‘em!
We’ve have columbines for years and years in the front of the house. This year they didn’t come up and I don’t know why, though I suspect that the area is too shaded now. I’ll have to figure out something else to plant.
Gyps is eating again. Best Choice Double Stuffed Meat Ravoli. I wash the tomato sauce off and she loves it. Since the ~meat~ looks like dogfood and she gets plenty of carbs in the pasta, I’m happy. Desperate times call for desperate measures.
That’s great! Sounds like Gypsy likes a little variety in her diet...Chinese, Mexican, Italian. So how did you discover that she liked ravioli?
No fresh nibbles on the horseradish. Hehehehe...
We’ve gone through every dog food, from canned to freshpet. She eats mostly human food; she really needs carbs to absorb the toxins and she hates rice, oatmeal, barley, quinoa, anything that would be good for her. I’ve had the ravoli for a long time in the back of the cupboard, and just popped it open on a whim. Like most things, she ate it for two days and hated it today (sigh).
Congratulations on keeping your horseradish!
Poor Gyps! How about different pasta dishes? With cream sauces? Potaotes? Just trying to think of some good carbohydrates. The Kittehs like popcorn but mostly for just batting around the floor.
Both kittehs are in for the night and Alex brought in another mousie to play with.
She normally won’t eat pasta which was why I was so surprised she took to the ravoli. With her ~texture~ issues, she won’t eat potatoes much. Sweet potatoes would be the best for her, and I’ve tried ‘em boiled, baked whole, sliced into chips and baked, I even found a recipe for sweet potato hash. Luckily, since it’s people food, we’ll eat it if’n she won’t. I’ve tried cooking grains with different stocks, different meats, nothing works.
The most heart-breaking thing is that she still has so much spirit. She is always up for a walk or to play with her squeaky toys. I keep telling her she’s got to eat so she can keep playing, and she just hears blah-blah-blah.
Today was not really pleasant for kittehs to play, but they are wearing fur coats, so that helps! Alex is turning into quite the mouser, Annie is missing that part of the kitteh genes.
At least Alex remembered to come in at a decent hour last night. She brought her friend in with her!
Was it dead or alive? When we moved the woodpile and got the resultant mousies in the house, Annie would catch one and bring it in the living room to play with. It only took that happening twice for us to break out the traps!
Alive. They took it to the back room.
Hmmm....found a pile of little gray feathers out in thebackyard...
Hmmmm, your kittehs, another kitteh or a raptor, I reckon.
We found a few feathers on the newly seeded lawn area, the positioning of them led us to believe that a raptor had nailoed a turtledove mid-flight. I saw that happen once before and it is an amazing sight. Really amazing for the poor dove, but Mother Nature has a certain rythmn....
