Hi All,
I just received an e-mail from "saveliberty" advising me she has been hospitalized. The cause as she wrote was:
"I have a significant, but benign tumor near my ear that is pushing against a nerve (which hemorrhaged). It sounds bad but I have excellent care."
It certainly does sound serious to me, even though saveliberty said she was being well cared for. She did want me to let her FRiends here know of her condition. When I get further info, I will post it.
In the mean time, if you could add saveliberty to your prayers, I know she would be comforted by that.
saveliberty is often the Threadmistress, and I am but a poster. So, if you all could perhaps place saveliberty's situation in the proper locations, I would be very grateful. [Or Moderators, if you are reading this.]
Get well soon, saveliberty!
Of course, as a former resident of the dairy state of Wisconsin and as a lover of all things dairy myself. I am sad to think you will miss out on some of natures finest foods. It is also difficult to think of all those cows that will be idled by your abandonment of their moo juice!
Read, as well, that you are putting in 40 minutes on the treadmill. That should have you in good shape for your surgery. [That's almost as much time as I spend napping!]
Prayers for good health.
And you are deserving of it.
Off I go.
Nite!
Thank you for keeping us informed! Prayers continue...
:) Hello Foxy!
I have the best possible support group!
We had a busy day. We took Dad to a doctor’s appointment (he had to fast for a test) and then took him to brunch (but we made a quick stop at a doughnut shop so that he could have coffee and a sandwich beforehand.
Brunch was in NH and it was a glorious day. We took our time and then ambled home, whereupon I baked a pumpkin pie to take with us when we travel tomorrow.
Dad must have had a good time as he thanked me more than once for driving there and back.
I did rest for a bit, but will need to start packing soon. :)
I hope that you had a great day today!
Thank you, Alamo-Girl!
Pumpkin pie, eh? Sounds better than the Twinkies that we travel with.
You said your dad had a fast test? How fast was he?

G’nite.
Snoq!
:)
OK, you said the secret word and have passed the test. Continue with your mission.

We have been away and just came home this evening, Foxy! I will rest up and tell more about our time with family and friends tomorrow.
Have a good night!
G’nite.
SL, I’m so glad that you’ve discovered the allergy, and are feeling better!
Hopefully, it will be only temporary. My mother had the same problem a number of years ago - seemingly out of the blue - and, it went away after she stayed away from milk products for a while. She surely missed her milk and ice cream for a while! But, thankfully, she has no problem with it now. Hoping the same for you!
:) LucyJo, thank you! I had read something similar and I am glad that your mother was able to enjoy her milk and ice cream after the allergy went!
These days, there are good “fake ice creams” and “fake doughnuts” to console myself. It seems to be a more common allergy as it’s pretty easy to find non dairy items.
LOL But I did learn that non dairy creamer has dairy.
Last night was spaghetti night,, but I made a Western omelet for me and didn’t feel as though I was missing anything. Okay, cheese would be nice, but I will try rice slices soon as they are supposed to be okay. :)
I am off to sleep, and perhaps to dream...of dairy.
G’ nite.
Eastern omelet - can’t be done as it would have to be vegan.
Good morning, everyone! Happy Columbus Day!
I am sending an update- my symptoms had been improving, in part as we’d identified food allergies and also in part as I had had an infected tooth. We don’t know why the symptoms get better when the infection is treated, but why argue with success? :)
The tooth will be dealt with on Wednesday.
The next hurdle will be to call the doctor’s office weekly to ask (nicely) if there is a possible earlier surgery date for the tumor as a scheduling conflict pushed it back to December. This is a worry as it may risk another hemorrhage, now that I am completely off all medication.
Unknowingly, the doctor’s office invited this polite “pestering” as the secretary told me that I could call when I wished. Well, I wish to call weekly. LOL
Let’s see if that helps.
Another help would include prayers for an earlier, but safe date, which we are working on.
Thank you for your support, friendship and prayers!
God is with you!
Thanks for the update....prayers ongoing for you to gain strength and for the symptoms to continue to get better.
You remain in my prayers! May everything work out.

Happy Columbus Day!
Praying for all that is best to get you healed quickly and completely! God bless. : )
What a bunch of annoyances you are beset with, save.
You appear to be keeping your sense of humor and good spirits, which is so like you.
I am saying bad words about your doctor’s office and then asking for forgiveness as I pray for a safely expedited surgery.
Thank you, ohioWfan!
Thank you, LUV W!
Thank you, Fudd Fan! How are you feeling?
Thank you, DollyCali! I am hoping that the link that I’d sent you will work for you.
Thank you, LucyJo!
;) Thank you, Bahbah!
I am glad to be rid of the tooth as it had been a recipient of 3 root canals. At the time, I had no known allergies, but since then, I developed an allergy to nickel, which was used in the process. So the way I see it, I am getting rid of something that makes me sick.
Also, I can be more upbeat now that I found soy ice cream that tastes like the real thing (Trader Joe’s) and I paired it with a sliver of apple pie that I’d made.
Full disclosure - I put too much shortening in the pie dough and it’s the messiest I have ever made, but the crust is flaky and airy and tastes wonderful.
I also forgot the fake butter after putting the top crust on, but cut some slits in the crust and pushed it through and it worked out. LOL Not ideal, but it worked.
save, I ALWAYS forget to put on the pats of butter.
ALWAYS.
The push-through method works, Bahbah.
BTW I am watching the HBO series John Adams on dvd and while I enjoy it overall, it frustrates me that they do such a disservice to Abigail and John. Abigail Adams, they’ve converted into a slow moving but quick thinking lady of leisure who on occasion works out in the farm. They skipped the voyage on the ship and skipped how she ran the property on nothing.
John Adams they maligned in his tenures in France, Netherlands and England in order to prop up Franklin, when in reality, both were good men but flawed.
SL, I just read your response to Bahbah about having 3 three root canals on that tooth.
Don’t want to concern you unnecessarily; but,if you don’t have marked improvement now that the tooth has been removed, hope you will ask if there could be a bone level infection caused by the infected tooth.
I know someone who was shocked to find that problem caused by a tooth that had previously had root canal work done on it. The orthodontist who did the surgery said that the abcessed gum was a fortunate, early sign of the problem, because many people don’t realize what is happening until more damage is done.
The symptoms that persisted were a periodic low grade fever, and sapped energy levels despite meds giving some relief, but never entirely getting rid of the problem.
Of course, this may have nothing to do with your tooth infection. Just wanted to tell you about it just in case.
*Hugs*
I have used it, save :)
:) Thanks, LucyJo! Actually the tooth comes out on Wednesday. I just finished the antibiotics last night and the surgeon wanted to make sure that happened first.
He’s seen the pictures and he thinks that he’s got it figured out. But I will ask if there could be a bone level infection caused by the tooth. My energy is great and I have no fever, so maybe it was caught early enough.
I will also add that today, being med free and after 20 minutes of yoga for clumsy people, I feel great and the stiffness is much less (for now).
Heh. I wonder if that is the origin of the slits in the crust. LOL The first baker wouldn’t admit having forgotten the pats of butter.
LOLOL.
Good! I’m sure all is under control. Just being a mother hen here because I haven’t read every post in the thread, and let myself get carried away with incomplete info. ha.
I thought that you had said the tooth hadn’t come out yet, and then I read that post that was none of my business and got confused. lol.
So glad that you are feeling better. : )
(((Hugs))) This is helpful, LucyJo! There is so much that is going on inside different parts of my head, it’s worth noting that this may be an issue, but it’s been over 14hours since I’ve taken any antibiotics and I feel fine.
Thank you so much for keeping us informed! Prayers continue...
I’m so happy you are doing better. :)
Thank you, Alamo-Girl!
Thank you, toomanygrasshoppers!
Glad to hear your symptoms have been improving, save, and hope you continue to feel better. Absolutely call your doctor’s often to check for any surgery cancellation. We’ll all pray that you are successful and get this over with safely sooner than you think!
Thank you, GoldwaterChick! :)
Giggle. Good for you!
Thanks for the update, SL. You are in the prayers of all Snowflakes.
Thank you, MaggieCarta!
LOL She gets a call tomorrow! Lucky her! :)
Grin. :) Think of it as her job.
(((Hugs)))
Glad to hear the good news. As Groucho Marx said, don’t
forget abscess to make the heart grow fonder.
Prayers up!
(I got the editor’s report back; been busy rewriting)
Thank you, Loud Mime! I knew that you were busy; I am hoping that whatever helps to inspire you best will bring your work to what you and the editor would like it to be.
I am off to crash and will catch up on the other postings tomorrow.
Nite.
