I used spray foam insulation to plug up the hole they were coming out of. It expands so I was careful. Worked for me so far as I have not seen any yet. Mine were going into a wooden shed up by the roof. I had them in dirt & just put rocks on their holes. Good luck, they're nasty.

Those little silica beads that come in many packages are deadly for bees. Not sure why, but I was told if you can inject a bunch of those in a nest they kill the things almost instantly.

You win! I have had carpenter bees. Your system works, but has to be repeated as the bees will return.

You can’t get it anymore. But you might have some or know someone who has it....

chlordane kills everything!!!

I had ground nesting bees and I went out after dark and sprayed the entire area. It killed the bees, and everything else.. I did not even have chipmunks for several years.

Use a tennis racket.

That’s what I use, seriously.

Put out some yellow dishpans, add about 3 inches of water and some sweet smelling dish soap.

They often will mistake it for a flower bed and land in it.

While they are flopping around in the water, a bunch of birds will often come by and eat them.

I had carpenter bee or a big bee that bored holes in the door jamb. I watched until it went in the hole and then plugged the hole with the bee inside. I whittled a stick to fit the hole.

The bee made a ruckus and could be heard in the house. It eventually died.

Problem solved

I use a tennis racket too. I love to see the remainders of them on the driveway.

My wife and son got me a small ‘tennis racket’ for Fathers Day awhile back!

It’s a battery powered bug zapper and it’s a cherished possession !!!....

(and fun too)

I’ve been plugging the holes with 3/8” dowel rod cut 1” long. Then when they come around attack with a badminton racket. A tennis racket is too heavy.

That’s what the bee keeper did for us. We had a nest in the ceiling of our kitchen. We got a bushel full of dead bees out of there. Oh, he also wore a special suit to protect himself from angry bees!
