***Years later I learned that what we had all seen was an A-12 Aircraft.***
SR-71 probably flown from Beale AFB, California. I saw one crash while landing there.

For years people swore they saw bat winged UFO's. They even drew pictures of them. Years later, the stealth bomber made it's debut. The front aspect view of an F-117 looks like a black flying saucer. I've seen wierd looking flying objects that have turned out to be an unusual aspect view of a common aircraft.

Amusing posts. As a MUFON certified field investigator, this thread does nothing for me. Interesting remarks from people with minds already made up to ridicule, but there’s nothing of substance on either side, IMHO.

MUFON is not totally populated with UFO believers. There are scientists and/or skeptics a plenty. One thing found in good field investigators is skepticism. There are a lot of folks with stories and what they think is evidence. Turns out they have not gathered evidence and they have an opinion of a phenomenon that they don’t have an easy explanation for, but they haven’t seen a mechanical object of extraterrestrial origin. Lenticular clouds are a common example of mistaken ‘identity’. Ball lightening is another common phenomenon which confuses observers. I’ve even seen ‘crop circles’ that were made by stormy weather. So far, haven’t been called to a manmade ‘crop circle’. If you want more interesting data and excellent commentary but not necessarily scientific data, do a google search on Linda Moulton Howe.
