If I’ve understood it correctly, during the 1918 Spanish flu, people who were younger and had the healthiest immune systems, actually suffered the greatest mortality.
It was the devastating hyper-response of robust immune systems in overdrive that hastened death in this demographic. So, if this is correct, in some pandemics, and perhaps in this one, the weaker might actually fare better.

I’ve been told the reason for that in mexico was because your animals get stolen if you don’t. In the old days they’d keep their donkey in their front room at night.

The kids at St Francis Prep have recovered. Several of those testing for swine flu were shooting hoops yesterday. I find this all very confusing. But if this were to be proven as bio terrorism I will not be surprised. Four or five different viruses in one is, at least to a medical illiterate like me, very strange.
I just disinfected our sets of keys. I do that from time to time but will probably start doing it more often.

I remember my son was just a newborn and the news was reporting every night on the Americans taken hostage by the Iranians, mass murder/suicide in Guyana, and Aids. I was thinking what a horrible time to be bringing a new baby into the world.
